The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Description (IGDB)
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass is the first Zelda game for the Nintendo DS and a direct sequel to The Wind Waker. The art direction is the same cel-shaded style as the Wind Waker but is displayed from a classic top-down perspective. The gameplay is structured similarly to other games in the series and is divided into two major gameplay sections: sailing between islands and exploring the islands and their dungeons on foot. The touch screen is used to make Link move and attack instead of buttons, you can also make notes of secret treasures and items on the map simply by writing them down. The game received critical acclaim from reviewers, who agreed that the game was a worthy sequel to The Wind Waker.
Histoire (IGDB)
Many months have passed since the events of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and Link, Tetra and Tetra’s band of pirates have set sail in search of new lands. They come across a patch of ocean covered in a dense fog, in which they discover an abandoned ship. Tetra falls into danger when she explores the ship alone, and Link falls into the ocean when he attempts to rescue her. When he washes up unconscious on the shores of a mysterious island, he is awakened by the sound of a fairy’s voice. With the aid of this fairy, he sets off to find Tetra – and his way back to the seas he once knew.

Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)
« There are many excellent games on the DS but few masterpieces. This one, though, is a masterpiece. And worth every penny you'll pay for it. [JPN Import] »
« Easy and approachable enough for the DS' vast install base of casual users but rewarding and challenging enough to satisfy the hardest of the hardcore Zelda fans. Somehow, magically, it succeeds on both counts. Phantom Hourglass isn't perfect, but it's one of the best experiences, casual or hardcore, available in gaming today. »
« If there's an imaginative and genuinely fun way to use the touch-screen this game finds it and exploits it to the fullest. »
« It’s not often that a game comes about to justify the purchase, or even the existence of a particular console, but with The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Nintendo has delivered a game that every DS owner should experience. »
« Nintendo again shows that it's the master of its own hardware with another sublime entry in the Zelda lineage. If you own a DS then this is an utterly essential purchase - it really is that simple. »
« It is groundbreaking in every sense of the word, and successfully bridges that gap between the hardcore and the casual. A feat that is in no way easy. »
« For many gamers, this is the Zelda title they've been waiting for on the DS. Even amidst high expectations, Phantom Hourglass passes with flying colors. »
« 20 of the finest gaming hours of the year. [Dec 2007, p.42] »
¡Recomendable! »
« I recently played The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, and I genuinely had such a good time with it. The stylus gameplay was surprisingly fun and creative, using the touchscreen for movement, combat, and puzzles made everything feel fresh and interactive. I also really enjoyed the story. It had that classic Legend of Zelda charm, with emotional moments, memorable characters, and a sense of adventure that kept me wanting to continue. The ocean exploration felt exciting, and uncovering new islands never got old. Overall, Phantom Hourglass was a really enjoyable experience for me. It’s creative, charming, and definitely worth playing. »
« It's okay for me. This game is a bit different from other Zelda games, where this game is heavily puzzle based, and lack of combat, which is my favorite thing in Zelda series. This also affect the boss fight where you aren't actually fight them, but more like 'solve' the boss. The exploration is good, but it get boring and repetitive after a few hours in. »
« Almost every Zelda game gets a score of 90 just because it Zelda on the cover. But if we take off the fan glasses, we can see the problems in the game. The core of the game is about to rush through generic temples with the phantoms under time pressure. Timers in games are always a bad idea. Another terrible idea is the mandatory use of the microphone. Since the Switch 2 also has a microphone now, I really hope they don't get the idea to make it mandatory in games again. If they do, I'll report it as a privacy violation immediately. There are also some unfair situations in the game. For example, enemies suddenly jumping into the screen and injuring the player immediately, with no time to react. The next game, Spirit Tracks is almost the same. Same phantom rooms and mandatory microphoneare and annoying unfair situations still there. This makes the DS Zelda games to the worst of the series. That's a shame, I really wanted to play them. But these poor design decisions make it unfun and unplayable. I can't believe Miyamoto and Aonuma were involved. It actually feels like a different developer designed this game. It's not a 90, not must-play. It's below 70 and for me it's even worse. »
« playing this game at ds is very fun,i love the interactive gameplay.sailing the ship is so fun with stylus. »
« Buen juego, buen Zelda. »
