The King of Fighters XIII, développé et édité par SNK Playmore, est un jeu de combat en 2D sorti le 14 juillet 2010 sur Arcade, PlayStation 3 et Xbox 360. Appartenant aux genres Arcade et Combat, ce titre utilise le moteur Taito Type X et conclut l'arc narratif d'Ash Crimson entamé dans The King of Fighters 2003, cinq ans après les événements de The King of Fighters XI. L'intrigue suit un tournoi secrètement organisé par Those From the Distance Land, une organisation cherchant à briser le sceau du démon Orochi, avec Ash absorbant les pouvoirs de Chizuru Kagura et Iori Yagami avant de trahir Saiki, le leader de l'organisation, pour disparaître et rétablir le cours du temps. La version Steam du jeu propose un roster de 36 personnages incluant des combattants téléchargeables jouables d'emblée, un mode histoire en visual novel, un mode tutoriel, un mode mission et un netcode en ligne amélioré.
