Sorti le 10 octobre 2007, Team Fortress 2 est un jeu de tir développé et édité par Valve, avec Electronic Arts parmi les éditeurs, fonctionnant sur le moteur Source et protégé par la gestion des droits Steam. Disponible sur PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, Mac et Linux, ce titre propose neuf classes distinctes offrant une large variété d'aptitudes tactiques et de personnalités, et il se distingue par des mises à jour gratuites constantes ajoutant modes de jeu, cartes, équipements et chapeaux. L'intrigue, baptisée la Gravel War, met en scène une femme acquérant le plus grand stock d'Australium, Radigan Conagher construisant une machine de prolongation de vie pour Blutarch Mann, Saxton Hale capturant le dernier Yeti, et l'Administrator renvoyant Miss Pauling rassembler les mercenaires, dans un récit mêlant affrontements et robots suceurs de sang. La presse a salué l'alliance d'une présentation rétro-espion stylisée et d'une action intense selon AceGamez, tandis que GameSpy y voyait un prétendant au titre de meilleur jeu multijoueur de l'année. Certains joueurs regrettent un équilibrage défaillant et une communauté dégradée, quand d'autres soulignent des graphismes toujours convaincants ou évoquent avec nostalgie l'époque où le jeu était sympathique. Le jeu affiche un score Metacritic de 92 et une note agrégée de 88,47.

« bad game as a whole, the community is garbage and the balencing is so atrocious there is no reason why to use half of the weapons, also 80 percent of the player counts on steam charts are bots, and the other 20 percent is 5000 hour russian degenerates who will personally dox you if you even do such thing as uttering the phrase "this game is not perfect", just please stay away, the community is garbage and there is no reason to play this game unless you want to waste time, if you are a new person to steam and want to play a free fps game just play cs2 instead, it isnt a 20 year old game with a delulu fan base made up by man children and actual children that still thinks that valve wants to support it after all of that time, overall i give it a 5 out of 10 cause you still can have some enjoyment in this mess and the artstyle is creative »
