S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl

« Stalker 2 is nothing short of a miracle. Developed by Ukrainian studio GSC Game World over the course of seven years amid a pandemic and a war -- among many other challenges -- Stalker 2 is a labor of love and the best type of sequel one could hope for. While many long-running franchises have strayed from their roots in an (often misguided) attempt to appeal to as many players as possible, Stalker 2 knows its core audience well and delivers exactly the type of game we were hoping for. »
« Stalker 2 brings the series into the modern era with stunning visuals while staying true to its hardcore FPS roots. The game retains what made the series unique, with difficult action, expansive environments and a rich story. However, minor issues such as weaker animations, AI and minor bugs detract from the experience. »
« One of the most beloved games is finally back, not without some flaws but overflowing with content capable of sticking us to the screen for weeks to come. A fantastic open world, alive, populated by believable NPCs that will lead us along a well-told story with various side quests to face in order to obtain a particular item or just for the pleasure of exploring the Zone. Superbly crafted maps worthy of a PvP shooter go hand in hand with survival horror atmosphere and gameplay. Some features, such as crafting and food management, are barely sketched out, but S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will succeed in breaking through the hearts of all first person RPG fans. »
« A miracle? Against all expectations S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 has really managed to resurrect the series, and without affecting its most important features, without betraying its philosophy. By remaining itself, S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 reaffirms its uniqueness. »
« Overall, Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is truly something special. It's not perfect, but it manages to succeed in some major areas that many other games fall short in. Its open world is one of the best I've been in for quite some time, but its morally gray choice-driven narrative is also something worth writing home about, with the immense amount of player power it offers. Stalker 2's combat is challenging and exciting, and there is almost never a dull moment as players explore the Zone. So long as players can look past some of its blemishes that are arguably overshadowed by its best features, they'll find a memorable and worthwhile experience in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. »
« Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl looks incredible, and the enigmatic Zone captivates you with the force of an atomic explosion. It offers an outstanding blend of shooting, survival elements, and one of the most stunning open worlds of the modern era. While it suffers from a few technical hiccups, these are easily forgiven in light of its exceptional quality. »
« GSC Game World nails a unique mixture of genres between survival horror and open world with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The atmospheric environments, engaging gunplay, and the constant feeling of threat culminate in a heavy recommendation from me for fans of the genre. »
« STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is an immersive experience like no other. It's a tense shooter, a gripping survival experience, an immersive explorable sandbox, and a stunning piece of art come to life despite the harrowing circumstances of the team behind it all. »

« The game suffers rushed/plain bad level design which makes you run another 1km detour just because the devs put a closed door (duga, vehicle graveyard), paired with a repetitive and ridiculous stamina bar makes a walking simulator during the mid-game rather than a exciting video game. The stashes even after the rework are still useless once you gain some cash, but there’s no way of telling which ones have schematics in them, causing a FOMO because you might miss a schematic for your gun etc. Additionally, no ALIFE or simulation of npcs in the open world which was promised at release and a staple of the previous stalker games, and still very bad performance due to inadequate optimising. It seems like 7 years of development still isn't enough. »
« I don’t understand the negative reviews. This is a really good game. Not the typical modern audience game that holds your ****. »
« Graet game best gunplay ilove this game »

« I was incredibly hyped for Stalker 2 and it honestly looked gorgeous. I put almost 23 hours into it but just couldn't bring myself to finish it. The save system is awful and the optimization is still a total mess. It has so much potential but the technical bugs make it practically unplayable for me. Every single NPC just treats you like an errand boy. Go here do this go there fix that now run all the way over there to grab an item and bring it back. I got so sick of these constant fetch quests that I lost all motivation to even walk around the map. The fact that the character slows down to an absolute crawl when your inventory gets heavy drove me crazy. I get that some hardcore players love that kind of realism but I hated it and really wish there was an option to just toggle it off. Sure you move okay if you keep your weight in the green but your stamina still drains constantly and takes forever to recharge. Dealing with all that just burned me out. The story didn't grab me at all either. Mostly I just felt like I was wandering around aimlessly and the storytelling was so weak that I honestly didn't understand what was going on half the time. Fast travel is super annoying too since you have to track down specific guides in certain areas and even then you can only go to a handful of places. To be fair making choices that actually lead to different endings was pretty cool and I enjoyed that part. Even with all its glaring technical flaws I still managed to sink 23 hours into it because just walking around and taking in the world is genuinely nice. The graphics are sweet and the atmosphere is top tier but the bugs just completely killed the vibe for me. Exploring is barely rewarding too. You travel all that way just to find a place and get absolutely nothing that makes the trip feel worth it. That totally kills your desire to keep exploring as the game goes on. Honestly for my last 3 or 4 hours I just rushed through the main story. Also the enemy AI is a complete joke right now. Sometimes I would literally walk right past them and they wouldn't even react. Despite everything it clearly could have been an incredible game but with how it is right now I'd give it a 7/10 »
« well i gave it a good go i really did...20 hours. not sure about all the talk of immersion!? I didn't find myself at all immersed ..just got really bored with its empty world with nothing to do or find ... playing on PS5 its quite buggy , plays and looks like a 15 year old game, very dated... which again ruined it for me and still had no idea why im in the world ..what's going on..whos who or what the goals are.. there are also 'anomalies' around... why..what for ?! so just lost interest.. maybe you need to play the older games, but just cant be bothered . »
