Secret Service
Secret Service est un jeu de tir (Shooter) développé par Cauldron HQ et édité par Activision Value, paru le 4 novembre 2008 sur Xbox 360, PC (Microsoft Windows) et PlayStation 2. Utilisant le moteur CloakNT, le titre plonge le joueur dans le rôle d'un agent du Secret Service tentant de rétablir l'ordre après que le président des États-Unis nouvellement investi a été abattu lors de son jour d'investiture. Le jeu affiche une note agrégée de 59,99.
Concernant l'accueil critique, l'Official Xbox Magazine a publié que « Unless you dream of defending the president, there are better sacrificies. [Jan 2009, p.76] », tandis que le Xbox World 360 Magazine UK a écrit « Bang for your buck - but the bang of a party popper rather than a nuke. [Mar 2009, p.79] ». Des joueurs s'étant exprimés sur Metacritic ont également partagé leurs impressions, l'un estimant que « Better than expected. While it is far from great, I still had fun. « Perhaps the game's most interesting aspect is its release date. In early November 2008 it hit store shelves, just in time for the Presidential election. Considering it's got a narrative enveloping a potential assassination, a vice-president with a distinctly Cheney-like appearance, and threats from a militant foreign power, perhaps Activision thought it the best window to publish. As it turns out, the release represents pretty bad taste, particularly because the game does not attempt to resolve or present its issues or themes in any sort of elegant manner. Instead it's very much a crude, bumbling mess of a conspiracy plot on a level of ridiculous that occasionally exceeds even the preposterous exploits of Jack Bauer. »

« Better than expected. While it is far from great, I still had fun. The voice acting is hilariously bad, characters are uninteresting, and the game on the hardest difficulty is only hard because of how janky and stiff the game is. Looking past all that, i had fun. The level designs are unique and kept me engaged. Graphically it’s not bad and the sound design is alright. It’s a quick game, I’d say give it a try, play the first level or two, and decide for yourself. »
