Publié le 17 mai 2016 sur PC, PlayStation 4 et Xbox One, Homefront: The Revolution est un jeu de tir en vue subjective et d'aventure développé par Dambuster Studios et édité par Deep Silver. Le titre plonge le joueur dans une Amérique occupée quatre ans après une invasion militaire, à Philadelphie devenue un ghetto sous surveillance où une guérilla tente de déclencher une seconde révolution américaine. En tant que chef de la Résistance, le joueur mène une guerre de guérilla dans un monde ouvert dynamique répondant à ses actions, pouvant rallier la population et transformer l'occupation en révolution, avec un mode coopératif en ligne permettant de former une cellule avec des amis. Le jeu repose sur le moteur CryEngine de quatrième génération et protégé par la gestion des droits Steam, propose une campagne solo d'environ douze heures et un parcours complet estimé à trente et une heures et demie, pour un prix de 1,99 euro. Accueilli avec un score Metacritic de 54 et un score OpenCritic de 48, le titre a reçu des critiques mitigées, bien que la presse comme Eurogamer Italy ait salué un FPS compétent malgré quelques défauts, et que certains joueurs sur Metacritic ou Steam regrettent les analyses négatives tout en jugeant l'expérience divertissante malgré des bugs persistants.

« I was unaware of this game's existence until recently. After reading mixed reviews, I surmised that it might be an entertaining game despite some negative feedback. The graphics appealed to me, prompting me finally to purchase it, and I have no regrets. The game atmosphere is captivating; mastering the guerrilla warfare and infiltration mechanics and taking control of each area as the campaign unfolds is highly gratifying. In my opinion, it's more addictive and immersive than any recent FarCry game. All in all, it's an easily recommendable and enjoyable story-driven action-adventure semi-open-world first-person shooter game. »
« It´s 2024 and i liked to play this game. Even if the textures are no longer as fresh, there is nothing wrong with the way the characters move. I like games in the Ubisoft Open Worlds style. However, the content of this game is a bit more limited here. A straight open world shooter, as it was usual at the time, with no overloaded frills. A few little flaws and bugs don't spoil the game experience at all for me. »
« OH MY GOD! This is the most underrated and hated game of all time. Many people are so hated for no reason and it is such a shame for that worse characters and plot as they said. It is so fun to play than original Homefront. Story and characters are better and cohesive. Portrayal of Norks can have some racism but doesn't worse in Homefront 1. i get 7 out of 10 but the drawback is that it is worse on console and buggy on launch. Homefront 1 problem is that it is like Call of Duty style warfare against genocidal fascist Korean army rather than guerrilla. This game is an actual guerrilla warfare and also have unique and strategic gameplay and it has so fun to play. »
