Description (IGDB)

Resident Evil Code: Veronica X is a port of the original game with additional content comprised of improved graphics along with an extra nine minutes of cutscenes. The character Steve had his hairstyle changed to have a noticeable fringe, and no longer proudly shows his forehead. This change was made to all cutscenes that feature him, as well as to the family photograph he carries with him. Apart from these changes, the game is almost the same as the original one.

Histoire (IGDB)

Three months after the events of Resident Evil 2, Claire Redfield is still looking for her brother Chris. She infiltrates Umbrella Corporation's headquarters in Paris, where she is captured and knocked out. When she comes to, she finds herself in a prison on a remote island. Freed by a friendly guard, Claire faces several problems. Not only is the island under attack by an unknown assailant, but there has been another outbreak of the T-Virus and the island is crawling with zombies and other mutated creatures. Claire not only has to face the undead, but also the commander of the base, a mad aristocrat with family ties to the origins of Umbrella Corporation and the T-Virus. And escaping from the island is only the beginning of Claire's ordeals.

Gaming Age 100/100

« I admit that I doubted Capcom's ability to continue their fear effect *snicker* with the Resident Evil franchise. But it seems that they are not only becoming bigger and more graphically intense, but more engrossing as well. With the crisp new 3D world, the wonderfully modeled characters, music and sound effects to die for (couldn't help it), and a story line that takes you on a 2 disc ride of suspense, what else do you need? Well, maybe better voice actors. Steve's voice was grating on me throughout the first half of the game. But other than that, this game is a must own Dreamcast title along with Crazy Taxi, Soul Calibur, and Dead or Alive 2. »

« Simply it is the best Resident Evil.. The best puzzles, the best story, the best cutscenes, the best characters, the best OST, the best gameplay, the best monsters, the best survival horror game ever made. »

MuzZone 9/10

« It was the last resident evil that give vibe of their classic survivor horror formula. There's a few section of annoying gameplay here and there but forgiven by the atmospheric and the sense of true dread it brings. The game is also long for the classic formula, so its quite satisfying before leon ruins claire's hope once again »

PWPCA 8/10

« This is easily the hardest RE game in the franchise up to this point! It is unforgiving, it is relentless, it is aggravating at times, and the backtracking I would say here is LESS fun than in previous installments. RE: CV is STILL a classic though and the story still has that classic **** RE vibe to it that 2 & 3 have. It isn't a bad game by any means, but you will find yourself having more of a challenge than previously, especially if you're coming straight from 2 & 3, which I think are more enjoyable experiences than this. »

« Resident Evil Code: Veronica is often considered one of the most important Resident Evil games, and in some ways it feels like the last true evolution of the original survival horror formula before the series shifted directions. »

F4ll3n_Ech0 9/10

« Una entrega clave en la saga que combina lo clásico con avances técnicos, siendo uno de los Resident Evil más completos y desafiantes. Historia más profunda y ambiciosa. Evolución técnica importante. Mantiene el survival horror clásico. Personajes memorables. Gran desafío. Puntos débiles: Dificultad elevada. Algunos momentos frustrantes. Controles clásicos algo duros. »

« Great game given It's age and while it does feature a lot of backtracking and a ton of areas with difficult enemies sometimes just spammed through them I'd say the ending compensates for it, it really feels rewarding. »
