Overwatch
Overwatch

« Overwatch 2 plays brilliantly. It’s a wonderful shooter full of depth, with unique heroes to master, maps to learn, and hours of your life to lose all over again. »
« Overwatch 2 doesn’t flip the formula the way you might expect a long-awaited, numbered sequel would. But through various clever tweaks, it’s a well-rounded evolution of the experience into which I’ve poured more than a thousand hours since 2016. I may never recreate the magic of those first few years in Overwatch, but Overwatch 2 is a big step towards restoring the faith in the franchise and has me thinking it’s time to pour a few more hundred hours into my favorite team-based shooter. »
« At launch, Overwatch 2 is a launchpad for something much, much grander. It’s rough around the edges, but the controlled chaos of the actual gameplay is right up my alley. Given the live service nature of the game, it’s something I’ll likely re-review every so often. Still, Overwatch 2 is in pretty great shape overall. »
« Overwatch 2 is so damn good. 5v5 has breathed life into the game, Junkerqueen, Sojourn, and Kiriko are a breath of fresh air, and the game’s new high pace suits its competitive nature perfectly. The new maps are insanely fun to play, albeit with some needing tweaking, and the new Push gamemode only enhances Overwatch 2’s core experience. The only downside comes from its cosmetic-locked, 9-week battle pass system, which will be costly to continually purchase. »
« A breath of fresh air for the Overwatch franchise, with the new game modes, characters, and mechanics all working together superbly well, for a genuinely exciting sequel. »
« Overwatch 2 represents the arrival of the foundational changes Blizzard's hero shooter needed in order to return to its former glory. While it's not perfect — few things ever are — the changes that the game makes to Overwatch's gameplay structure, progression systems, content release schedule, and presentation are absolutely stellar. »
« Overwatch 2 seeks a second chance from the community to be the "eSport of the decade". It has changes in the gameplay, in the competitive integrity, even aesthetic and sound changes but no matter what, it is one of the most exciting and adrenaline-filled shooting video games ever created. »
« Overwatch as a franchise has always felt like a child taking toys out of a box to hurriedly show you what’s next, breathless through excitement before switching to another. In that sense, Overwatch 2 is a bigger toy box, with a few more action figures and incredible new dioramas to pose them in. It’s definitely a variation on a theme rather than something wholly new, at least until the PvE component arrives in 2023, but what’s here has reignited my love for a world, its characters, and their stories in a way I didn’t know I’d missed. Whether it’ll be enough for the competitive crowd, though, remains to be seen. »

« Trash game, maybe the worst game in history, the match making is so bad, take care of your mental health and delete the game »
« overall the game is in a good state now, and is improving. That said. Matchmaking ruins this game. it's the worst MM i've ever experienced in any game, bar none. I'd say 6-7/10 feel imbalanced to the point of it being 1 sided, no matter how hard you carry. I can double the enemies healing and triple their damage on a mirror pick and still get stomped because at least 1-2 of my team don't know what they're doing in *Role Queue*. I thought I'd give the game another try, but after 40-50 games it's clear that the issue is pervasive in all comp modes. »
« Don't waste your time downloading this trash. The matchmaking in ranked is completely broken and makes zero sense. You can sweat your soul out to win a game, get a tiny amount of rank progress, and then lose a single match because of terrible teammates or servers, and the game strips away twice as much as you **** ranking system is rigged to keep you hardstuck, punishing you for things outside your control. It’s an incredibly frustrating, unrewarding piece of garbage. Save your mental health and stay away from this dead game »
« It feels like every time I log on there's a new tank with six thousand health or a DPS with 7 billion damage. at some point they're going to run out of space for heroes to fit at the bottom of the screen. »
« Let’s make this simple but informative. First off The Good. It’s a game with personality and is unique in its own right. The game has a lot of different hero’s and maps and unless you have been playing for a very long time there so much to learn. The Bad: balancing hero’s is just never going to be perfect with a game like this, it’s why they constantly have to make adjustments to hero’s and make changes in hopes they will one day reach a true balancing of hero’s (which will almost never happen). In addition after some play time you realize how repetitive it can get with people choosing the same modes and maps. The UGLY: This game is a team based game, meaning you play alone you will not have a great time if you want to rank up. This is not call of duty where one person can carry a match. No matter how good you are, even if you are the best in the world, if your team is really bad, you will lose. It’s the nature of the game. Now you can generally compensate in lower ranks but as you climb beyond the metal ranks in this game you will realize why so many people have let bad reviews for the game being too team based. Because the higher rank you are the harder it is to carry. If your teammates are bad then you are left playing the rest of the match waiting for it get over with. You can’t just leave without being highly penalized and consistently leaving can get more severe penalties. The problem is if you start to get a streak of bad players. Now you will rank down and down and down. Wasting hours of effort you needed to climb. And essentially just needing to wait mid match for it to be over so you can get a game that is winnable. This becomes more common in higher ranks as it’s more common for people to play in groups. If you are not playing in a group, you are left with other players who are probably in a higher rank than they deserve because they got there playing in a group. Leaving a cycle where you consistently need to have dramatically higher impact to win. If you don’t you will most likely lose. Overall I don’t this Is a game that should be played competitively. It’s not one that really has a strong competitive scene anyway but it’s like trying to be a great sprinter in a marathon. Sure being great at sprints is helpful but you are running a marathon. Sure being a great solo player is helpful but your playing a team based game. You will always be at huge disadvantage based on that simple principle alone and there is little you can do about it but spend match after match waiting for a decently competent team. If you have the time for that sure go ahead but keep in mind each match can be 30 minutes or more. At this point I’m giving it up. I don’t have the patience for it anymore. P.S: after reading others reviews it seems that this is a major reason people quit playing the game, reading steam reviews, Reddit posts and forum posts, this seems to be a a eventual realization of many. (Sigh) I wish I had realized this earlier and read others reviews and not bothered with this game. Not worth it tbh imo. »
