Titanfall 2, développé par Respawn Entertainment et édité par Electronic Arts, est sorti le 28 octobre 2016 sur PC, PlayStation 4 et Xbox One. Ce jeu de tir à la première personne mêlant aventure propose une campagne solo et un multijoueur compétitif. L'histoire se déroule dans un futur lointain où le conflit oppose l'IMC et la Frontier Militia dans les colonies extérieures de la galaxie : Jack Cooper, un simple fantassin de la Milice aspirant à devenir Pilote, se retrouve isolé derrière les lignes ennemies après la mort de son mentor et s'allie au Titan BT-7274 pour accomplir une mission pour laquelle il n'était pas formé, tout en étant traqué par les mercenaires d'élite de l'IMC. Le gameplay combine des déplacements d'infanterie rapides avec course sur les murs et double saut, et des phases de contrôle du Titan au combat, le multijoueur opposant des équipes de Joueurs et de Titans sur le même champ de bataille. L'édition Ultime inclut le jeu de base, le contenu de l'édition Deluxe et un pack de démarrage donnant accès immédiat aux classes et capacités, ainsi que divers jetons et cosmétiques. D'une durée de six heures pour l'histoire principale et seize heures en mode completionniste, le titre utilise le moteur Source et le DRM Origin, pour un prix de 29,99 euros. La presse a salué l'ajout d'une campagne solo surprenante et bien conçue, tandis que certains joueurs regrettent que le jeu n'ait pas reçu davantage de reconnaissance à sa sortie malgré son histoire et sa jouabilité innovante.
