Metro: Last Light
Metro: Last Light
Description (IGDB)
Based on the Russian novel Metro 2033 by Dmitry Glukhovsky, Metro: Last Light is a post-apocalyptic horror first-person shooter that serves as a new chapter in the Metro saga and is the sequel to Metro 2033. Like its predecessor, the game is a primarily story-driven shooter with heavy stealth elements. Artyom may carry up to three weapons at a time, however bullets are scarce and valuable to the point that higher grade bullets are, in fact, the Metro's currency. When dealing with armed opponents, stealth is encouraged and it is wise to save ammunition for the many mutant creatures encountered in combat. In many situations the player can choose between straightforward shooting and stealth, also having the option for lethal or non-lethal enemy takedowns.
Histoire (IGDB)
The game picks up after the bad ending from Metro 2033, in which Artyom delivers a devastating attack on the mysterious supernatural race known as the Dark Ones. The station-cities of the Metro struggle for power using weapons found in D6. The player follows Artyom, the main protagonist from Metro 2033, as he searches for the mysterious "Prisoner", the supposed “key to survival – the last light in our darkest hour…”

« If you were to take someone who’s played his share of shooters, someone who cares about the story between and around the shooting, someone who can appreciate games that offer new takes on familiar experiences, Crysis [3] will feel like a soulless blockbuster to the auteur’s art film of Metro: Last Light. »
« Besides some "western" touches, 4A Games delivers a very special and almost flawless game which proves that Eastern European development scene is here to stay. »
« Metro: Last Light is a bold symphony to the senses. Deep Silver is the new bringer of AAA titles, now they have a lot to live up to. As the saying goes, you are only as good as your last game release. Deep Silver is now the one to watch. »
« As far as 4A Games is concerned, one can only be awe-stricken. With only 10% of the average western developer’s budget, they have managed to publish a stunning game, simultaneously on four platforms. The underdog has triumphed. [June 2013] »
« The fact Last Light is absolutely stunning on the PC and packed full of crisp detail makes exploring and fighting through this hellish, dimly-lit realm an affecting and exhilarating experience. A few years and a lot of spit-shine make a huge difference on the visual front. »
« An astonishing and moving postapocalyptic journey. »
« Metro Last Light is an excellent first person shooter that we recommend to all FPS maniacs. Those who were fascinated by the original Metro 2033, can proceed to an instant buy without even checking the package with a Geiger counter. »
« Subtlety is what makes Last Light such an exceptionally immersive game. It nails the core tenets of a shooter, then forces you to react to enemies in ways outside of simply taking cover. It plops you in a post-apocalyptic world, then fills it with tons of minor but substantial details, like the shadows of once-living people now permanently nuked into stone walls. It strips you of hope, only to dangle a tiny sliver of it ahead of you like a carrot on a stick. »
« This version was free. I don’t like the Russian‑sounding accent and stuff like that, but since I rarely play FPS games, this one was fine. I could handle the darkness in it. »
« Metro: Last Light is a remarkable continuation of the Metro universe, expanding on the foundations laid by Metro 2033 while refining nearly every aspect of the experience. It is a game that pushes atmosphere, tension, and world-building to new heights, blending narrative-driven design with a more polished and accessible gameplay structure. While it loses some of the raw, unsettling survival harshness of its predecessor, Last Light compensates with stronger storytelling, technical improvements, and a more cohesive emotional **** game’s opening immediately sets the tone: humanity remains fractured, ****, and desperate, clinging to survival in the decaying tunnels beneath Moscow. As Artyom, now a Ranger, you navigate not only hostile environments but the political tensions between rival factions—each with its own ideology, paranoia, and willingness to seize power. The conflict between the Reds and the Reich, combined with the lingering fear of the Dark Ones, creates a narrative backdrop that is far more ambitious and human than in the first game.World-building once again stands as the series’ defining strength. Stations feel larger, more populated, and more complex. The game’s NPCs are more expressive, animated, and believable, with richer conversations and environmental storytelling. The metro feels alive in a way that few games achieve; you observe families **** together meals, soldiers sharing stories before deployment, defectors whispering in the shadows, and civilians who cling to normalcy despite the constant threat of war and mutation. Every scene contributes to a world that feels coherent and immersive.Last Light shifts subtly away from the oppressive survival scarcity of Metro 2033. While resources remain limited, the game is more forgiving, encouraging exploration and experimentation. This change may disappoint players who cherished the suffocating tension of the original, but it allows for smoother pacing and more dynamic level design. Military-grade ammo no longer doubles as currency, which simplifies the economy but reduces the sense of difficult trade-offs. Gas mask filters still create urgency during surface missions, though the surface itself is more visually striking than mechanically punishing.Combat and stealth have been significantly improved. Gunplay feels tighter and more responsive, with better recoil control, clearer weapon upgrades, and more consistent accuracy. Stealth is one of the game’s standout features—enhanced lighting, clearer cues, and expanded options allow you to navigate encounters with satisfying precision. Enemy AI, however, remains inconsistent: sometimes impressively reactive, other times oblivious to sounds or movements that should alert them. Despite these limitations, encounters feel more tactical and fluid overall.Visually, Last Light is a major leap forward. The lighting system is more advanced, shadows are richer, and environments—from crumbling tunnels to open wastelands—are rendered with impressive detail. Character models are noticeably more expressive, contributing to stronger emotional moments. Sound design continues to excel, with haunting echoes, distant gunfire, and unsettling mutations reinforcing the atmosphere. The soundtrack adds both melancholy and intensity, complementing the game’s pacing.Narratively, Last Light is more structured and emotionally grounded than Metro 2033. Artyom’s personal guilt over past actions forms the emotional core of the story, and the inclusion of the last surviving Dark One provides a moral and philosophical dimension that deepens the narrative. The moral choice system returns, once again hidden rather than explicit, influencing the ending in subtle and meaningful ways. Some players may find the story too linear or scripted, but its strength lies in the emotional impact and thematic consistency.Despite these achievements, the game is not without flaws. Certain sections lean too heavily on scripted scenes, reducing player agency. Stealth can break unpredictably due to AI issues. A few mid-game chapters feel less inspired, and the tonal shift toward a more action-focused experience may alienate fans who preferred the harsher survival elements of the **** even with these shortcomings, Metro: Last Light remains a powerful and atmospheric continuation of one of gaming’s most compelling post-apocalyptic worlds. It is equal parts haunting, dramatic, and visually stunning. While it trades some of Metro 2033’s raw survival identity for accessibility and polish, it succeeds in crafting a more cinematic and emotionally charged experience that stands strong in its own right. »
« Redux sürümünü oynamanız daha mantıklı. Daha stabil bir sürüm çünkü. İlk defa oynayacaklar için bile eskimiş durumda... »
« Such and underrated game. Amazing atmosphere and decent gun play. You should give it a chance. »
« Metro last light, Metro 2033 ün geliştirilmiş versiyonu. oyunu iyi son ile bitirmek çok zor »
« Before anything else i wanna mention i played on the 2nd hardest difficulty.Coming off of metro 2033 i didnt think much of this game as i heard about how quickly it came out afterwards and at first i thought it was gonna be the equivalent of dlc passed on as a true second game. To my surprise it was not arguably much better the the first but it has its faults. Mainly the fact that for about 60% of the game you dont have any real motives to care about anything as its a long drawn out " i need to get back home" story for most of it. It never really changes from that but later on you get more invested as to why you need to get **** gun play is all about the same. There's still some spots where you can get lost or confused on where to go. which is annoying but nothing terrible. Graphically it looks a decent bit better then the last game but i also think the last one had a heavy cloud of fuzz on it but i **** characters you meet both returning and new are well voiced acted but the models are stiff and hardly move. The sex scene comes outta nowhere but i mean i get it but there's no real impact since we have no reason to care about this chick. And i thought the "decisions" you make when the dark one is around would actually matter unless i just don't know how they **** ending is alright. Final fight is sufficient and the setup for another game does exist i just dont know where they really take it from here but im interested in seeing it now then i was before. In summary the game gives you more of the same but the story is dull at best until the last 3rd of the game and while playing on higher difficulty it did actually push me to be more stealthful without forcing my hand to avoid gunplay. A nice mix of both and the human enemies were decently smart.Solid game. glad to have finally made my way around to beating them »
