Murdered: Soul Suspect
La presse a salué certains aspects du jeu, comme GamesBeat qui a qualifié l'œuvre de « one of the most surprisingly good games I’ve played in a long time », tandis que Gamestyle a jugé la proposition « an excellent premise, let down slightly by some out of place game mechanics ».

« One of the most surprisingly good games I’ve played in a long time. It manages to sell its bizarre premise and builds a solid, moving story out of it, and the plot-propelling investigations add immensely to the detective feel. Walking around as a ghost is clever and entertaining, and it even manages to inject variety into some of gaming’s most overused elements. »
« An excellent premise, let down slightly by some out of place game mechanics. »
« Murdered: Soul Suspect has a unique concept and backs it up with an intriguing story and a mysterious game world you'll want to explore. Disappointing graphics and slightly unoriginal gameplay keep it from becoming a game to die for, but it's still worth your time and money. »
« Despite the new power of the PS4, the town is essentially (if you’ll excuse the pun) dead. NPCs stand or sit in the same place constantly, their faces devoid of emotion. The only one who actually looks alive is the man with seven glowing bullet holes in him. »
« It's not without its flaws to be sure, some of which are patchable, but Murdered Soul Suspect offers an interesting mystery and enough other positives to make it well worth playing. »
« Is this a game? Yes, but totally different than you would expect. There isn't a lot of action involved, in stead you are puzzling all the time. The game sometimes lack variety, nevertheless the experience and story are very interesting. »
« Those issues aside, I have nothing but appreciation for Murdered: Soul Suspect. It's fresh, it's different, it doesn't adhere to genre conventions, and it's an experience all its own. »
« Murdered: Soul Suspect is probably something different from what you are used to. The narrative background and the main character are the main charms here, but don't expect any kind of challenge from the gameplay, which suffers from some hiccups in the investigation process. What you're left with is part wasted chance, part fascinating back-story. Surely, it could've been much more than this, and that's a shame. »

« Murdered: Soul Suspect PS3 Era To me this is a typical PlayStation 3 era game. Simple, does nothing spectacular but somehow still fun to play. It does nothing amazing but it’s charm lies in it’s simplicity. The concept is cool and you just go along for a ride. Collectathon This game is probably not for everyone and you have to look through the harsh graphics, characters and gameplay at times. The game bombards you with collectibles whilst you go from one place to another and in the mean time telling it’s story. Through the collectibles you learn about the small side stories. Running around and collecting every single artifact (173 in total) never felt annoying to me and just gives the player a chill time. Dementors?! The game is very easy with only one enemy type, demons who look like the dementors of Harry Potter. You have to ‘sneak’ up behind them to drive them away and if they see you, you just have to hide for a couple of seconds before they go back to their ‘patrol’ routes. Other then this there isn’t a single threat in the game apart from a ghost train and soul traps. Being A Ghost Has It’s Perks I like how they implemented certain elements for the story like being able to read minds, eavesdrop, recalling flashbacks,… . All very simple but fun in my opinion, like the small ‘minigames’ where you hear a sound a have to guess what it was or get a picture and pick 3 relatable emotions for example. Conclusion The game is short, being able to complete it in 7 hours if you go for everything. The thing that pissed me off was that I had to redo the story up until the museum because I forgot one single artifact and not being able to revisit the museum after you went there… Other then that I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a chill time, an old school vibe and just turn your brain off for a couple of hours. This was a nice change to the more recent games I played. Completion Time: 08 Hours, 46 Minutes & 05 Seconds Overall Time: 2 Days & 13 Hours Personal Rating: 7/10 Platinum Experience: 8/10 Backlog Progress: 3/812 »
« Gameplay mediocre,story good,world mediocre.game froze couple **** it on **** was okay game. »
« I enjoyed the game. I liked the story. Despite some of its historical and intellectual inaccuracies. (The voice acting is fine but could be better. Music I feel is non-existant and only seems to be around when I'm being chased by demons. The games concept has potential. So much so that a sequel could be possible. Gameplay is a middle ground between intriguing and incredibly stale with an ounce of frustration. Intriguing, because the detective aspect was enjoyable as you actually had to be perceptive, but at the same time frustrating as the game itself does not give you visual ques besides a button prompt when you happen to be close enough. Which is odd as the game itself does have visual ques for certain things. Such as which electronics you can activate. The game wasn't really challenging much, somethings were either difficult to find or braindead obvious. I had more fun exploring the hub portion of the game looking for those gas cans just to listen to the objects story only to realize that the last two can collectibles are impossible to get without certain ghost abilities. Ghost abilities. At the start of the game you are told by a young girl that the skills you had in life are enhanced in death effectively being your unique power. The evergreen abilities that ghosts have consist of being able to walk through unconsecrated walls, fade and port to pockets of ghostly residue, teleport, every ghost can do this yet Ronan doesn't naturally learn these skills he just happens to know them when he tries to do them. As for the unique abilities nothing really shows itself for Ronan. Honestly missed opportunity. Ronan is a detective give him the ability to detect. He should have detective vision an ability that highlights clues. Let me use a spectral gun to pacify demons, let me reconstruct scenes by connecting clues, not a flash of still images. It's just disappointing. You lay down a premise and don't even use it. If there was a game that deserved a remake/remaster it would be this game. It needs more time to bake as the concept itself is strong enough to warrant my reaction. Sadly I may not get to see something like that. Also....1 last think square how dare you make me leave a cat in a loony bin cell. »
« Murdered: Soul Suspect is a perfectly fine adventure game/walking simulator where main character Ronan O'Connor has to uncover the mystery of his own murder, while now as a ghost. The plot was very interesting, happening in Salem, where ghosts roam the city after their deaths, and Ronan can help them move on. It is admittedly a very easy game, as it boils down to finding items, solving puzzles, and avoid being taken out by evil spirits. Aside from some collectibles, it offers very little in terms of challenge or replay value, but it's still a perfectly fine game. Just not the most polished game, but a worthwhile play when its on sale. »
« Murdered: Soul Suspect !Disclaimer: I’m fully aware that I am far from the best writer and I’m just generally typing down my main thoughts about the game for the people that just might be interested in them. Also English isn’t my main language so sorry in advance.! Gameplay If you are looking for a ‘no brains’ collection hunter game then this will be right up your alley. There is no combat in this game apart from sneaking up on some demons and disposing them by a simple quick time event which only occurs around 7 times in the whole story. For the rest of the game you just run around and collect stuff related to your past, relatives, killer and history of the town. It is very simple and maybe too simple, I don’t mind a game being like this and it is a nice diversion from the bigger and longer games but there were some cool and unique mechanics that would be more fun if they were more challenging. Story This game starts off with you being murdered and you arise as a ghost. Whilst being a ghost you have to solve the murder case that you were on and find out who killed you. It is a unique story that has a certain charm. I liked the story and how you could read the minds of people and chat with other ghosts. Collecting stuff also had some meaning with some more explanation about the overall story and characters. They could have included some more and funnier things in the ‘mind reading’ and ghost stuff though in my opinion. Visuals This is were the game really shows it’s age and if someone told me that this was a PS3 game, I would’ve believed him because it looks very rusty and dated. However I didn’t mind this at all since it has this old school vibe and it brings you back to a time were more games were like this. So it kind off added to the atmosphere instead of being a nuisance. Sounds As for the sounds there isn’t really much to say about it since there isn’t really a soundtrack present. The game is pretty quiet and you just hear to ambient noises of some voices of the citizens or cops. I didn’t mind this to be honest and it was only near the end I realized there wasn’t really an obvious soundtrack present. Conclusion This is a great game if you just need to relax a bit and want to watch an interesting small story. I find comfort in running around and searching for every collectible, especially if they contain some sort of background info and are not just there as filler content. This won’t blow anyone’s mind but I enjoyed my time with it and it doesn’t take too long to complete it so I’d definitely recommend this game. « This game was actually really fun. It had some cool mechanics that felt natural, and collecting everything and listening to some cool ghost stories was awesome. The twist at the end didn't feel stupid or rushed, but if you put time into getting collectibles, it felt a bit more reasonable and understandable. I think the biggest issues with the game are that a lot of the collectibles are un-viewable as far as I know, that the demons are a little finicky and quite annoying to deal with, and that EVERY GHOST YOU INTERACT WITH IS EITHER A CREEP OR A MURDERER! It's so annoying that outside of side quests, every ghost is just a disgusting psycho! »
« Fun game, that's what games are supposed to be. I can understand not liking the game if you want something to blow you away, a lot of action and AAA cutscenes. If you liked L.A. Noire for piecing things together you may like this, but be warned the games are very, very different, even investigating. This is a solid AA game and is far better than those modern AAA open world games with subpar DLC and a main game that is 500 hours long and does not respect your time with tacked on content and repetition. The only reason it's so long it because you spend most of your time travelling through a huge empty world and levelling up through repetitive tasks. »
« This game captured the feeling of being a ghost, because I died for real when I played it »
