Description (IGDB)
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided directly follows the aftermath of the Aug Incident, a day when mechanically augmented citizens all over the world were stripped of control over their minds and bodies, resulting in the deaths of millions of innocents. The year is now 2029, and the golden era of augmentations is over. Mechanically augmented humans have been deemed outcasts and segregated from the rest of society. Crime and acts of terror serve as a thin veil to cover up an overarching conspiracy aimed at controlling the future of mankind…

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is a 2016 action role-playing game developed by Eidos-Montréal and published by Square Enix for Windows, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in August 2016. Versions for Linux and macOS systems were released in 2016 and 2017, respectively. The game is the sequel to Deus Ex: Human Revolution and the fourth installment in the Deus Ex series. The gameplay combines first-person shooter, stealth and role-playing elements. It features exploration and combat in environments connected to the main hub of Prague and quests which grant experience and allow customization of the main character's abilities with Praxis Kits. Conversations between characters have a variety of responses, with options in conversations and at crucial story points affecting how events play out. Players can complete Breach, a cyberspace-set challenge mode, in addition to the main campaign. Breach was later released as a free, standalone product.

« Mankind Divided is a wonderful, powerful game and a great addition to the Deus Ex mythos with rich, fully built characters and an amazingly immersive world. If it wasn’t for the many missteps that the marketing department took, you would probably have preordered this already. »
« A stellar sequel and an outstanding game in its own right, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is a AAA experience worth your attention. »
« Its impeccably designed environments are flush with possibility, remaining completely coherent while supporting a wide variety of routes and character builds, and Jensen’s prodigious new feats of techno-wizardry make add new dimension to both combat and exploration. Mankind Divided never stopped challenging me or rewarding my curiosity, which pushed me to thoroughly explore its beautiful, ruined world while carefully weighing my decisions along the way. »
« It provided more of what I loved from Human Revolution, and certainly scratches a stealth-action itch that few games not called Metal Gear Solid fail to provide. I love the level of freedom granted to players with this series, and Mankind Divided capitalizes on that concept constantly. »
« Mankind Divided takes all the great ideas from Human Revolution and adds to them, making it just as good as the prior Deus Ex. »
« Deus Ex: Mankind Divided gives you truckloads of the great gaming experience already seen in the previous installments and polishes it into near-perfection. Prepare to delve into a thrilling story with lots of possible consequences and outcomes. »
« Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is captivating from start to finish, giving players more freedom to make their own choices. Controls are sublime, whether you’re massacring the enemy or avoiding them; with enough tools to make both viable options. The take on a futuristic Prague is unsettling, yet hugely immersive, together with some interesting social commentary. It’s been a long time coming, but Mankind Divided was worth the five year wait. »
« A solid sequel that comes close to but never quite surpasses its exceptional predecessor, Mankind Divided is nonetheless an essential purchase for fans of stealth and story. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« Interesting and fun. The story is good, though at times it feels a bit unclear. It requires some time to get into the rhythm. »
« One of the best games ever True masterpiece. Unfortunately too much underestimated »
« I just started playing - what the hell are you thinking with 15 minutes intro video? Who watches that rubbish? Are you insane? Do you think I remember single sentence said in that rubbish batman voice? Just shut up already, incredible bad, incredibly bad idea. »
« Idk this game was pretty frickin boring imo. I kept waiting for it to get better but the flaws were too great. The open world felt empty and boring, the story was boring, and the main character was boring »
« Deus Ex: MD is a fantastic edition to the 'immersive sim' genre. To play an undercover augmented agent set within in a dystopian future trying to uncover multiple conspiracies after another, truly, is still a very interesting key point of the Dues Ex franchise. The gameplay is smooth and dynamic, the aesthetics of a more 'grounded future' is eye-catching and Adam Jensen is still an awesome protagonist. The story may be lacking in some parts (mostly, the ending) but it's still solid all around. So, if you'd like to have a nonlinear experience with all the above mentioned factors, then I truly recommend Deus Ex: MD. »
« Fun game mainly because of the satisfying gameplay and violence, the controls are also great and standard FPS because you choose different from the crap Red DEAD. Hey I just don't give it a 10 because It's hard to master everything »
« This game has one of the best artistic direction in video games. Indeed, the city where the game takes place is well realized, with lots of small details teaching us more about this dystopian future. It also brings great reflection on topics such as transhumanism and segregation. A very good narrative that demonstrates that a good game can be a 'semi-open world.' »
« This game is criminally underrated. The writing is whip smart, balanced, and thought provoking. The team really trusted their audience and didn’t dumb things down. I love Cyberpunk but Deus Ex nails the tone in a way I was looking for. They’re two different games but for context Deus is darker and more mature. The gameplay is addictive. While you can get roped into too much draw searching for items, the world building and sense of choice is super solid. Theres a good mix of stealth, combat, and conversation, while you’re free to bend the rules to the way you want to play. Sad to hear the latest Deus Ex game was canceled, but thank you for all your hard work Edios Montreal. »
