Eurogamer Sweden 100/100

« Bioshock Infinite is a magical experience on every level. Despite a few glitches and a couple of issues with pacing in the later parts, this game is already a clear candidate for game of the year. »

Polygon 100/100

« For everything it has to say, for all the questions it asks —many of which have no easy answers — BioShock Infinite's big thoughts and complicated narrative don't obscure the brilliant action game that carries those messages through. »

Eurogamer 100/100

« BioShock Infinite doesn't blur the lines between your reality and the game's to quite the same extent as its predecessor, but it's a more complete and polished story, and that's the thing you'll remember. »

Joystiq 100/100

« Undoubtedly the finest game crafted by Irrational Games, BioShock Infinite is one of the best told stories of this generation. It simply cannot be missed. »

Gamer.nl 100/100

« BioShock: Infinite isn’t just one of the best games of 2013, but also of the twenty-first century. The themes and storytelling are unparalleled and are approached from multiple points of view, without being at the expense of the first-person shooter-action. Besides, BioShock: Infinite is a title that gamers really needed after all these years. »

Gamereactor Sweden 100/100

« Placing bets for best game of the year? We have a solid tip for you. »

Destructoid 100/100

« As a game, BioShock Infinite has its successes and its falterings consistent with any suitably complex piece of interactive entertainment. As a story, as an exercise in drawing the player into a believable and relevant world, as proof of exactly what a videogame can mean to a person ... Well, I already said it. BioShock Infinite is damn near perfect. »

Game Informer 100/100

« Dealing with themes like religion, racism, and xenophobia, Columbia is a richer and more nuanced setting than even Rapture, and the unveiling of the city’s culture is masterfully executed. »

« A great successor. Gameplay and exploration was fun. I liked it. Worth playing »

mutbrecht 9/10

« Gameplay is fun and challenging until the end. It does get somewhat repetitive but developers tried to change the settings so the player does not recognize. I like the critical approach the story takes towards social topics. Definitely worth your time! »

« Sky-High Masterpiece with a Slow Burn BioShock Infinite is a rare breed of shooter that prioritizes its "mind-blown" narrative above all else. While the story takes its time to gain momentum, often feeling "foreign" or slow-paced in its early hours, it builds toward a conclusion that is nothing short of a masterpiece. The relationship between Booker and Elizabeth serves as the emotional anchor, evolving into a complex examination of choice and consequence. Though the initial narrative structure can feel somewhat tiring, the ultimate payoff is deeply rewarding, leaving you with the profound feeling of a "dark fairytale." The gameplay strikes a solid balance between traditional first-person shooting and tactical variety, though it occasionally feels like a straightforward FPS at its core. The inclusion of Vigors adds a layer of creativity to the combat, even if their importance feels less central than the Plasmids of the past. While there is enough variety to experiment, the game’s difficulty is flexible; choosing a more relaxed approach often feels more natural, allowing the player to focus on the spectacle rather than getting bogged down in repetitive combat loops or "anemic" filler quests. Visually and aurally, the game is an absolute triumph. Columbia is breathtaking, defined by an exceptional concept art style that blends vibrant aesthetics with a sinister, underlying darkness. The sound design is equally meticulous, with an atmospheric score where tracks like "Beast of America" perfectly capture the game's gritty yet grand spirit. However, while the writing is ambitious and philosophical, it occasionally lacks the tight, cinematic polish needed to bridge the gap between its slow beginning and the explosive, emotional ending. Ultimately, while the first two BioShock titles set an incredibly high bar, Infinite manages to surpass them in my view. It takes the core DNA of the series and elevates it into something more ambitious and emotionally resonant. By trading the claustrophobic depths of Rapture for the expansive heights of Columbia, it delivers a superior experience that leaves a sweet, lingering aftertaste and a sense of wonder that its predecessors couldn't quite match, proving itself as the pinnacle of the franchise. »
