Histoire (IGDB)
One year has passed since Zero defeated Copy X. He has since spent his time wandering the desert defeating wave after wave of Pantheons. As the game opens, Zero wearily makes his way through a sandstorm wrapped in a tattered cloak. As the sands die down he realizes he is once more being chased by enemies. Despite being in disrepair, with cracked armor and broken weapons (his rod and shield being useless), his cloak is thrown to the winds and his Buster Shot gun is drawn in defense. Elsewhere, the three surviving members of the Four Guardians (Phantom self-destructed trying to stop Zero's assault on Area X in previous game) assumed command of Neo Arcadia, with Harpuia as the leader. Copy X's death was covered up, as the humans revered him as their savior. Harpuia leaves Neo Arcadia and comes across Zero after his battle in the desert. Harpuia brings him to the new Resistance Base where Zero is repaired and reunited with Ciel and the rest of the Resistance, and also meets their new commander, Elpizo. Alone in her office, Ciel tells Zero of the changes that have taken place in the year he was missing, as well as reminding him of her ultimate goal of creating a new energy system. She shows him a Baby Elf, which is the basis of her current research.

Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)
« Visually, the game is amazingly detailed and incredibly animated; in terms of level design and obstacle placement, it is superb. [Oct 2003, p.71] »
« Just what I want to see happen to the Mega Man series - classic gameplay with extra enhancements for more depth, Zero 2 is a fantastic step in the right direction. [Nov 2003, p.70] »
« It doesn't play with the formula too much, which is both a good thing and a bad thing. »
« To date, the Zero series has really become the gem in the series, with its incredibly fun gameplay, immersive backgrounds and storyline, and a hero who, in my opinion, is a lot cooler than Mega Man. »
« It's very demanding and frequently frustrating, but it's a lot of fun (more fun than the original, for sure) for those who have what it takes. The game also rewards the elite more than any other game of its type. »
« The intense difficulty may turn some people off, but, otherwise, Mega Man Zero 2 is the kind of game that belongs in the collection of anyone who considers themselves an aficionado of action games. »
« The level design more than makes up for any sort of qualm you might have with originality since the extreme difficulty will keep you on edge and playing for plenty of hours. »
« Despite its daunting start, in the single-player mode, MMZ2 plays very much like an enhanced version of its predecessor, which is a good thing. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« Absolute ****, respawning enemies and totally impossible bossfights, idk what the **** this game wants me to do.megaman is themost overrated franchise ever »
« Just like Zorthl said, no such things as hard difficulties in this game, everything is cheap and poorly made, the train level is one of the worst things about this game, hard to agree with someone that says that this series is good or better compared with the X series. »
« I have so much fun every time I play this game. Everything about it, from the story to the gameplay, is just amazing. I enjoyed every moment while playing this game »
« It's actually one of the hardest games I've ever played and I like it. Level design is good, boss battles are too. Final boss is extremely hard as it should be. »
« I like how the game is a direct sequel to the first. It this game is cheap. Not hard, but cheap. It uses its very limited field of vision to spawn enemies off screen(like the train level) to frequently diminish your health with little to no reaction time. It’s the same formula, same game as the first, but even more difficult in the cheapest way possible. I want to love Zero’s games but compared to the X series these games are garbage by comparison. »
« The 2nd game is just as good as the 1st one and again doesn't disappoint at all. Mega Man Zero 2 is my 11th favorite GBA game of all time. Play this game now. »
« This is a very difficult, but very impressive and incredible game. The music and graphics are top notch, the game has fantastic presentation, and really great and inovative level design. The game is very difficult, but its that good difficulty which makes you wanna come back for more, and keep fighting and fighting until you beat it. The best in the megaman zero series, and one of my personal favorite GBA games, of all time. »
