Journey

92 /100
13 mars 2012

Playstation Official Magazine UK 100/100

« It's one of the few games you'll genuinely reflect on after completion, and an object lesson in how less can be more when it comes to crafting narrative and eliciting investment. This is a game about which I would change nothing, and I can't remember having said that too many times before. »

Digital Spy 100/100

« The fact that Journey has so effectively condensed the experience into a two-hour interactive poem is an astonishing achievement. It is the evolution of Jason Rohrer's art game Passage, bringing an unmatched humanity to the experience through its multiplayer. »

Push Square 100/100

« Experiences like Journey don't come around very often in any form of media. thatgamecompany's crafted an interactive tour de force that's triumphant in its ability to cycle through human emotions. It's a game that demands your involvement on a spiritual level, rather than a purely mechanical one, and while it's never preachy in its philosophical intentions, it's hard not to get wrapped up in the divine nature of Journey's tale. »

Eurogamer Sweden 100/100

« Journey isn't a game - it's an experience. The few hours that this complete gem contains are completely breathtaking, and cement Thatgamecompany's status as visionaries. »

Joystiq 100/100

« I don't want to be misconstrued as generic or uninspired when I say that Journey is an awesome game. In the most classical, archaic sense of the word, Journey is a beautiful, evocative and unequivocally transcendental experience. »

TheSixthAxis 100/100

« From the first spec of sand to the last flake of snow, developers thatgamecompany have managed to get more emotion and more life into a video game than anything else in recent memory; and the striking confidence that the game exudes drags you along for the ride without once letting you go, until the credits roll by two or three hours later. »

Eurogamer Spain 100/100

« Journey is something that purely relates to who we are and what we are, an experience that will give you as much as you give to it, that needs to be absorbed and processed. »

Vandal 100/100

« Journey is a different game that everyone will love. If you like videogames you must play Journey. It is a very special experience you will never get enough of. »

« I mean its allright like the game is kinda feelin a bit overrated to me…….. »

« A beautiful and bittersweet journey. The music is GORGEOUS and adds so much to the experience, and the story is simple, but touches on such a huge subject. It's a story about life, not just about the struggles that it brings, but the magic of it. About how we start off, weak and curious, and as we progress, experience hardship but never stop trying. And most of all, about the journey that is life. How life begins and ends. Life is an eternal cycle, and where one journey ends, it begins completely anew. Just so good. Few words, but many emotions. »

« Less **** and more of an interactive piece of art. It's absolutely gorgeous from start to finish. Yes, it's super short, but the journey (pun intended) is so beautiful that you won't even mind. Highly recommend. »

« Journey es probablemente el ejemplo más claro de cómo una experiencia emocional bien dirigida puede ser confundida con diseño profundo. La conexión entre jugadores es interesante a nivel social y simbólico, pero el juego apenas propone fricción, riesgo o decisiones con peso. El viaje está coreografiado, no descubierto. Funciona como ritual estético compartido, no como sistema interactivo complejo. Hermoso, sí; transformador como juego, no tanto. »

« Journey is one of those games that I didn't expect will blow my mind at the start. I was bored at the first half of the game and I even met multiple companions during this time, which I thought at the time were NPC's so I didn't mind them and continue my journey alone. For whatever reason, the second half of the game really hook me and I fell in love with the game. I don't know if it's because of the peaceful atmosphere, the calm music, or the magic of just playing game from start to finish. I finished my first playthrough and then I realized that those companions, which I thought first were NPC's are actually humans. I was mindblown at that fact so I started playing the game again. Finished it multiple times with random companions that I've met. My last playthrough is my favorite one, I got a companion from the start and I plan on playing with him until the end. I thought I lost him at chapter 4 and I felt sad, then there he is, waiting for me at the start of chapter 5 and we finished the game together. What an incredible journey with a random person and I think that for me is the meaning of the game. It's such a wonderful experience and I never felt that before while playing a game. Overall, the game is amazing. It's a short, peaceful, and relaxing game that you will never get tired of. The atmosphere is great plus the music is so calm. I really enjoyed the game. One of the best games that I played in 2025. »

« Decent, relaxing game. You figure out the gameplay as you go along. There's no time limit and you have infinite lives. It's about exploring, gliding in the sky (to some extent) and playing with the carpet-like things around you that "charge up" your flying ability. Also, a glowing square that grants you more time to fly. Keep doing that while making progress in order to reach a particular destination. »

PounceUwU 4/10

« I'm glad this game exists because it was a massive inspiration for countless games that followed. The game itself, however, is nothing more than a glorified tech demo. »

Five-O 9/10

« I don't know if I should put a 8 but my heart goes with this. Incredible, few answers gotten, but what a contemplation masterpiece. »
