TheSixthAxis 100/100

« This is a game that wears its heart on its sleeve while bringing something fresh to the landscape; it’s quite divine. »

Digitally Downloaded 100/100

« Laden with meaning (and in future articles on Digitally Downloaded I'll be writing plenty more about that meaning in the weeks, if not years to come, I suspect), this game uses poetry as its basis and executes on that vision so well that it is, effectively, interactive poetry. »

Gamereactor Denmark 100/100

« A shining example of the powers of adventure, and what a well-realised fairy-tale world can do for a gaming experience. Child of Light is magnificent journey that deserves both your attention and your time. »

XGN 95/100

« This world is so special, the game itself is so brilliant, fabulous, and dreamy. It is, no doubt, a must have for gamers. »

PlayStation Universe 95/100

« Child of Light is a game that should not be missed, especially by RPG fans. If someone asked me to give them an example of why video games are considered art, Child of Light would be that game. Child of Light is easily an early contender for Game of the Year. »

IGN 93/100

« None of it feels focus-tested, or designed to appeal to the broadest possible audience; rather, it always comes off as exactly the expression its creators intended. »

ActionTrip 92/100

« Child of Light isn't perfect, but it’s a gorgeously fun RPG nonetheless. »

Push Square 90/100

« Child of Light has a few flaws, but these don’t prevent it from being an instant classic. »

Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)

Araghuhn 8/10

« A true videogame gem - not too flashy or too big; instead it's charms with beautyful presentation, clever game mechanics and perfect balancing! Probably my Ubisoft-Favourite! Especially as a change too the awesome AC-open worlds, which I love to experience, but after every game I feel totally overfed like after a asian food buffet. This is the kind of games we need more of! »

koko12 7/10

« Positif : + histoire féerique, classique mais efficace + jolie esthétique de conte illustré à l'aquarelle + textes en vers plutôt bien écrits + combats stratégiques, au tour par tour avec une timeline + musiques délicates + possibilité de NG+ Négatif : - manque de profondeur pour un RPG - bestiaire quelconque et peu varié - des DLC payants »

RealNova 8/10

« POSITIVES: Great art design. Innovative, fun and strategic turn based combat. All dialoges are rhymed to sell that fable vibe and narrative. Shorter that the average RPG. Finding all the tresures is addictive. Perfect difficulty balance which is rewarding, with even difficulty selection. Lot of nice quality of life that does not make the game to easy or braindead. NEGATIVES: For a game with a decently intricate 2D world and exploration, is a big mistake the fact that there is no real map. The enemies are way to easy to avoid and they all drop the same things, there is also no bestiary or anything of the sort, so what happens is that you end up fighting only when you want to grind, except for bosses, it's not the game that chooses when you fight, it is you, and I would prefer it that was not the case. »

HorrorHeart 8/10

« To play a game called Child of Light * is such a joy; a true delight * From start to finish you are brought * into a world of Europe old * A true and proper fairytale, like brothers Grimm once told * Wrapped in finest art of colour and the sound of gold * Why this review is in rhyme, you surely find it lame * I'll tell you: "If you want to know.. well, come and play the game." »

ALMJ 10/10

« The best game from Ubisoft in the last decade. It's got a fantastic art style and amazing music. It's got a really good plot and the rpg gameplay is a lot of fun. I recommend everyone gives this a go especially now as it often gets really cheap in the sales. »

NdelokRaja 9/10

« [SPOILER ALERT: This review contains spoilers.] »

BigYeedus 8/10

« Really good game, feels like a storybook come to life. Beautiful art style and environments. Side-scrolling exploration and RPG combat works well. Cast of side characters are neat and provide good party customization. Plenty of secrets to find in the world. Feels remarkable that this kind of game was developed by Ubisoft - not the kind of thing they're interested in currently. »

ichmarich 2/10

« Graphics is good, and story too.. the thing I dont like is its a turned base game. Why dont just take a common side-scrolled game that has real action or hack n slash style... »
