Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)

COGconnected 92/100

« Golf Story is a smashing success and does so much more than it needs to. While the game would have been well received simply for its golfing aspect, Sidebar Games has built a great narrative and world around it. »

Nintendo Life 90/100

« Golf Story is a surprisingly gripping game, hooking you with fantastic gameplay, loads of content, and a well-written script. This is one that’ll have you coming back for many hours in the story mode alone, and the multiplayer does a good job of expanding on this with even more replayability. We would highly recommend Golf Story to anyone looking for something a little different. There’s a whole lot to love here, and if you’re a fan of RPGs or golf games, this is a must buy. »

Game Informer 90/100

« Yes, this is just a golf game at its core, but Golf Story makes you care about the characters and their world just as much as sinking a do-or-die putt. Part of its charm is keeping you off kilter, forcing you to hit a 300-yard drive with pinpoint precision one second, then solve a murder mystery the next. A continual delight to play, Golf Story is a breath of fresh air for sports, and another fun story to follow for role-playing fanatics. »

Everyeye.it 90/100

« Supported by a very high level of writing, extraordinary gameplay and a cast of extremely charismatic characters, Golf Story will not fail to satisfy both golfing lovers and role-playing enthusiasts thanks to a progression capable of optimally balancing the difficulty rate and a remarkable progression. »

Pocket Gamer UK 90/100

« Golf Story is charming, witty, funny, adorable, entertaining, and a must-have for your Switch collection. »

DarkZero 90/100

« Just like Stardew Valley filled a void in the hearts of those missing Harvest Moon, Golf Story does what Nintendon’t by delivering a highly competent take on the Mario Golf RPG formula – an offshoot of a franchise that has gone missing for well over a decade. Golf Story likely wouldn’t have existed without looking to gaming’s past for inspiration but that hardly makes it a knockoff. It excels in every way you’d hope a game in this niche but fascinating genre would. »

Destructoid 90/100

« Even though Golf Story isn't quite what I expected it would be, it is an absolute delight. It's more than just a golf game with RPG mechanics, but it's not quite a full RPG with golf mechanics either. It lies in a sweet spot in the middle, where people who care about one but not the other can still get into it. »

Vooks 90/100

« Golf Story is a completely charming game and is packed with great humour, tons of content and simple but fun Golf mechanics. Even if you don't particularly like Golf there's still a ton of fun to be had. Golf Story offers one of the most compelling packages on the Switch eShop and is up there with the best the store has to offer. »

« Having super fun so far (10 hours in). Blablabla will update with more details. »

KettleBloke 8/10

« A light hearted golf RPG where the recently single protagonist sets out to become a golfing champion with the help of his reluctant coach. Complete goofy challengers to increase your stats, search bins for cash to buy peculiar golf clubs and learn how to cheat by using power gloves and ghost tees. The game is rather short and takes place over eight themed courses. I really like this game and have a saved file with ninety-two hours on. For context you can complete the game in around six hours. I rate this game ball stealing mole out of ten. »

« Not sure if everyone else is just easy entertained or what but this gane is boring. So bare bones it has no place being on anything but a dusty SNES cartridge. Charming? Uhh if simplistic dialog is charming to you. But but..kots if side quests!! They don't tell you 90% of them are so mind numbing "hit ball here". »

« A throwback to Mario Golf on the GB/GBA era. Really charming and fun game; I really recommend checking it out. »

yorecent 9/10

« Solve all the world's problems with golf. This is a TRPG where each hole is an enemy and each club is a weapon. Gameplay loop mechanics for golfing are good--this is key. The weakness is the amount of guesswork that goes into curling a putt or spinning a drive. Wind and slope are also hard to guage. Those uncertainties are a significant part of the difficulty because hitting your shot exactly how you intend is not too tough (nor should it be). The story is funny as all get out. I looked forward to what twists and turns would come from each new course, and I was not disappointed. Very original. Things I have never seen all put together in a single game before, and I had fun with all of them. »

« Got boring after 10h and I still wanted to finish it. I guess it's too much of the same. Last course was WAY harder than any before - I actually had to try more than once. »

TrueOptimist 10/10

« A beautiful blend of sport and RPG. The golfing feels very good, which is obviously key, it doesn't work without that. Lots of different objectives and quest that are all varied and keep the game from becoming one note. Very fun dialog and story on top of everything else. »

CTAN 7/10

« Bought the physical copy and complete the game. Basically it's a good game especially if you like RPG elements, but there's significant problems with the control and linear storyline, and also lack of tutorial in guidance. I personally don't think the final chapter which is a tournament is fair enough, especiallythe gamer have to face the wind blowing and uneven surface of conditions that not well presented on screen. It's a good game but not great. »
