Excitebike: World Rally
Excitebike: World Rally, développé et édité par Nintendo, est paru le 9 novembre 2009 en exclusivité sur Wii via le service WiiWare. Appartenant aux genres course et sport, ce nouvel opus de la franchise Excitebike marie le gameplay classique de la série à de nouvelles commandes et fonctionnalités. Les joueurs y affrontent des sauts audacieux, des obstacles surprenants et d'autres concurrents à travers quatre circuits de championnat mondiaux. Le titre propose plusieurs angles de caméra et recourt aux commandes à reconnaissance de mouvement pour incliner la moto afin d'obtenir des atterrissages fluides. La connexion Nintendo Wi-Fi permet d'inviter des amis ou d'affronter d'autres joueurs en ligne, tandis qu'un éditeur de circuits intuitif donne la possibilité de composer et de partager des parcours personnalisés à partir d'obstacles disponibles.
Concernant l'accueil du jeu, la presse a salué la présence de davantage de circuits, de fonctionnalités bonus et de défis stratégiques de course, et a relevé que le titre fusionne sans effort la simplicité et le plaisir, à l'image de son prédécesseur. Certains joueurs estiment de leur côté qu'il s'agit d'une amélioration par rapport à l'original, bien que d'autres regrettent qu'il paraisse un peu ennuyeux de nos jours et ne propose que quelques circuits génériques. Le jeu affiche une note moyenne agrégée de 78,33.

Had to quote this previous reviewer because this is right on - I went back and played the original after playing Excitebike: World Rally for several hours straight, and WOW: this one ruined the original for me, which I never thought would happen. That's how much better this version is, and how much I love it. My *only* complaint is that they removed the ability to deliberately wreck yourself by leaning too far backwards. Yep, that's all I've got. Buy this game, it's uber retro goodness whether you played the original Excitebike or not »
« Excitebike: World Rally is better than the original, but it is a little boring nowadays. The game only gives a few generic courses to play and they are way too easy. The Wii Remote held on its side works the best to play this game. There is a really cool track created though that is simple and easy to use. One complaint is that for some reason, there is an online mode but no local multiplayer. By the way, the graphics are terrible and unacceptable but the music is okay, if a little repetitive. Excitebike: World Rally is a decent game and should be played by anyone who enjoyed the original. »
