Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)
« The new Trackmania builds itself on the best chapter of the franchise, laying the foundations for the future of the series. »
« Tremendously playable time trials with an extensive editor and a continuous supply of new challenges. »
« Trackmania's thrilling speed and simplistic style make it an easily accessible racer that will thrive on a dedicated, creative community who have the patience to navigate its subscription model and basic menus. »
« Trackmania features deep mechanics that put accessibility first in addition to a nice variety of online and solo modes that compliment the title to better enhance both the gameplay and community. There’s plenty of free content that will entertain casual fans for months and paid options tailored to the more devoted veterans. All in all, for being part of such a niche franchise, this is a great entry that has a lot to offer. »
« After almost twenty years, the Trackmania formula remains brilliant. The game is fresh, fun and incredibly addictive, only partially thwarted by the seasonal release of the content. »
« TrackMania is a seemingly simple product, but well layered and fun to play. »
« Trackmania is everything we could expect from a 2020 installment and is as fun as it has been for 17 years. Of course, its strange subscription model may not go over well with everyone. »
« Trackmania is not an exercise in superfine technique but it does not matter to be, because it seduces thanks to a gameplay as simple as effective and to the unbridled competition that prods every driver to always give his best. »

« The negative comments about this game are greatly misleading because it doesn’t even factor in anything about the game.. Although this game does have a yearly subscription, I really think people are just spoiled in other free to play games. Trackmania is driven by community built maps, with the first 10 tracks of the seasonal campaign being released by the developers. It’s based on progressively learning more and more about how to play. You are your only opponent in this game. Although the full campaign is subscription locked, it’s a mere $20 for a year of access. With a subscription you get access to literally everything the community has to offer including car skins and tracks, not locked behind progress walls. There are no other micro transactions. At around 300 hours in the game I’m confident in saying it’s one of the most fun and engaging games I have played and the least toxic online community I’ve encountered. I’m still no where near amazing at the game but there is so much more to the game than most people will realize because they’re stuck gawking at a $20 YEARLY ACCESS price tag. This game has an iceberg of knowledge that you can delve deep into but half of these reviews have barely even touched the surface. Its not a traditional racing game. Racing lines and gears do matter but there are a lot of quirks that give this game life. In my opinion once you start playing, it’s addictive to the point where you just want to find that one more run to beat your old PR. The next time you hop on you may find yourself in the same trap. If you can get past spending $20 for a year of access and actually give the game a chance, you may find yourself as in love with the game as I have found myself. »
« Most of the game is locked behind a nearly $30 cad paywall, the game it's self is fine but if you want to play more than like ten tracks you have to pay nearly $30 a year which is insane, why the game doesn't just do the normal free to play route with season passes and micro transactions is dumb founding »
« What a terrible game, it feels like it wasn't even finished. The graphics and the sense of speed are good, but the maps are awful and the gameplay is terrible. »
« Ah, yes, I love it when games are listed for free, only for you to find out that the game is, in-fact, not free after downloading it. A majority of the features and maps are locked behind a monthly/yearly paywall. The game is fun, it's really fun, but because of the monthly/yearly paywall blocking off most of the game, I can't rate it anything other than a zero. Actually disgusting. »
« After getting hooked on the 2008 classic, I decided to download the real deal to see what all the hullabaloo was about. I found it equally as addicting initially and quickly purchased the full access for a hefty sum, but sadly I never reached the same degree of fixation as I had so naturally fallen into with Nations Forever. I ponder of the reason - perhaps it is precisely that this game offers so much more than that that the charm was lost on me. Nations Forever was one of few games I genuinely enjoyed playing singleplayer, grinding maps indefatigably for the next medal. TM2020 simply has too much to offer that it inundates and overwhelms that singleplayer charm. All in all though, I still quite enjoy the game, despite it personally being a far cry from the 2008 version. »
« Very fun game if you like competetive racing , »
« I've played 600 hours on this game since its release and about 1000 hours on TMNF. The paywall system is trash and club system useless. The ice and plastic surfaces were very unpleasant to play on. These additions make the game more difficult than its predecessors. But i liked the for what it is good for: road + dirt surfaces. In summer 2024, new cars were added to the game. These cars are frustrating to drive, every joystick movements can slow down your car (impossible to play on keyboard and difficult on gamepad without actionkey/macro). These cars turned my "mind emptying" sessions into nightmares. So, i uninstalled this game. TrackMania has lost everything that made TMNF/TM2 good: simplicity. The subscription system forces developers to add content even if it makes the game unpleasant to play. »
