Destination Treasure Island
Description (IGDB)
Destination Treasure Island is a light hearted swashbuckling sequel to Robert Louis Stevenson's classic 1888 novel Treasure Island. Jim Hawkins, who fled with his share of Long John Silver's treasure as a small boy, has become the Captain of his own ship and is thrown into a race for a hoard of buried treasure. Set sail for the mysterious Emerald Isle with the aid of your parrot and a rhyming riddle, but beware: other pirates are after the treasure and the race is on to see who can reach it first!

« Destination: Treasure Island stands alone for its “invention” system. I haven’t played a game ever that allowed me to take apart a perfectly useful tool to use it parts for something else then turn around and put it back together to use it as it was intended before in my life. »
« While it won't end up on any 'game of the year' lists, it is a satisfying and fun experience that frames beloved characters and settings within a nice extension of the original story. »
« Boasting an incredible story, great presentation and fun, sensible puzzles, this is one game that fans of the genre and fans of the classic story have to play. »
« Destination: Treasure Island may not break any significant new ground, but it nevertheless delivers one of the PC's better adventure-gaming yarns since "Monkey Island". »
« It’s not going to wow you or keep you up at night, and I doubt it’s going to make any adventure gaming Top Ten lists, but it’s pleasant and accessible, and I enjoyed it enough during the 5-6 hours I spent with it that I feel comfortable giving it a modest recommendation. »
« Even with its heavy puzzle element, Destination: Treasure Island is a grand adventure. If players don't get snagged up on the rocks of a few of the tougher puzzles, they should be able to make it through the game in several sittings; once you get hooked you'll hardly want to break for the bathroom. »
« If you liked Myst and you like pirates, go buy Destination: Treasure Island, this is one adventure game that can be saved from walking the plank. »
« Sensible puzzles and an adventurous story make Destination: Treasure Island a treat for all ages. »
