IGN Spain 77/100

« Daymare: 1998 is a game that, far from reaching the level of Resident Evil remakes, still deserves a chance from fans of the survival horror genre for the efforts of differentiation and depth of its created universe. A great debut for Invader Studios. »

Meristation 75/100

« Built upon the basis laid by the Resident Evil Franchise, Daymare adds its own new ideas to the mix to present a game that, despite some technical issues and bugs, fully catches the essence of Capcom's franchise and delivers a solid survival horror game. »

Gamers' Temple 75/100

« While not perfect, Daymare is a really good indie survival horror that all horror fans should check out. »

Worth Playing 75/100

« Daymare: 1998 is a well-honed zombie experience that lacks originality but scratches the itch of those interested in the modern zombie game. It provides an alternate take on the traditional Resident Evil story, one that deals more harshly with the real-world consequences of investigating government science. Everything has a level of varnish, from environmental details to the documents that you read. Some of this must be counterbalanced with the fact that the game is a doppelganger. The well-crafted aesthetics also resemble the Resident Evil remakes, the Evil Within franchise, and countless others. Re-creation is many times easier than synthesis, allowing more time for attention to polish. »

IGN Japan 70/100

« It cannot be denied that Daymare: 1998 comes with many flaws, but you have to appreciate what it aims to achieve. Well-crafted locations, a unique reloading system and interesting storytelling are some of the game’s highlights, but since both the game’s story and mechanics take time to get used to, it can’t be denied that those strengths are a double-edged sword. »

Vandal 70/100

« Daymare: 1998 is a very interesting homage to the 128-bit era survival horror games, even if it struggles a bit technically on PS4. If you understand you’re going to play an indie tribute and not the next AAA horror game, you will have a good time with it. »

Areajugones 70/100

« Invader Studios has more than paid tribute to the most classic survival horror with Daymare: 1998. Unfortunately, the story that you star as a player in this play is not as interesting as the background of it, which can easily go unnoticed. However, the game has gameplay and a series of mechanics and details that do great justice to the horror titles of the 90s and, especially, to the first Resident Evil. »

Multiplayer.it 70/100

« Daymare: 1998 is a nice old-fashioned action horror with the right atmosphere, but some poorly-implemented mechanics and technical errors bring down the overall package. »

« I had a nice time with a game, kept my interest. Yeah, its not Resident Evil, but still ok:) »

Agent008 7/10

« This is a low-budget clone of "Resident Evil". It feels like a PC game from the early 2000's. The game is campy and filled with "spot the 90's reference" easter eggs. It has clunky mechanics and goofy voice acting, but is still fun. Overall, "Daymare" classifies as a guilty pleasure. You can say it's a "bad, but good" survival horror game. I'd rate this with a 7.2 out of 10 »

Santome27 8/10

« It is an older style feeling to it story needs improvement fun easy to get into. From a Og Resident evil fan it does not have the horror sense and way more forgiving. Its hardest mode is like normal to resident evil. the environment is great »

blackluffy 8/10

Zombalo 6/10

« A mostly enjoyable experience for RE-fans. Pros -classic action horror game exploration -original setting, certain story elements -combat was decent, except a few gimmick fights -atmosphere -good gameplay gimmicks although not polished enough Cons -few of the puzzles tried too hard -enemy variety -optimization(low fps) -voice acting of a major character was lacking at best Feel a 6 is justifiable, would recommend it to anyone to scratch the itch for another RE-game. »

LuisRS 7/10

« Let's get it out if the way, game is janky AF, graphics are mediocre, and voice acting is one of the Worst I've Ever heard And yet the atmosphere and gameplay is so good I enjoyed it far more than I thought I would, the music, sound effects and general overall feeling is th closest thing to original Resident Evil 2 I've played, and that even includes The RE2 Remake, and the reload mechanic is a welcome addition that adds a lot of tension to the combat While it shows the limited budget the game was made of it's a worthy experience than any Survival horror fan should give it a chance »

filmfantv 8/10

« Really fun throwback to old survivor horror games. The atmosphere is insane and especially the sound design is frightening. There are flaws (like a certain mechanic in the last chapter), but overall the game is fun. »
