Will Rock
Will Rock, un jeu de tir à la première personne développé par Saber Interactive et édité par Ubi Soft Entertainment, est sorti sur PC (Microsoft Windows) le 9 juin 2003. Le joueur incarne Willford Rockwell, un étudiant en archéologie contraint de devenir un justicier solitaire lorsqu'un culte fanatique, l'Olympian Restoration Army, ramène Zeus et d'autres entités de la Grèce antique, assassinant son mentor et enlevant sa petite amie Emma pour en faire l'épouse mortelle du dieu. Doté de pouvoirs par le titan Prometheus, Will, désormais mi-homme mi-titan, s'engage dans une traversée de la cité perdue d'Olympus pour se venger et secourir sa compagne.
Le titre repose sur le moteur Saber3D Engine et utilise la protection DRM SafeDisc 2. Disponible uniquement sur ordinateur personnel, il a reçu un score Metacritic de 63 et une note agrégée de 68,02. La presse a salué son aspect divertissant et son rythme nerveux, Game Chronicles évoquant un jeu procurent beaucoup de plaisir avec une action addictive, tandis que PC Gamer notait une formule classique mais captivante par séquences. Certains joueurs, à l'image de commentaires publiés sur Metacritic, rappellent que le titre était perçu comme une copie assumée de Serious Sam tout en jugeant l'expérience inégale mais ponctuellement amusante.

« Прошел will rock 2003 года. Помню обзор Зулина где он снисходил на говно и вопил что-то вроде – “Наглая копирка на Сэма”, ну так-то он есть, но все не так плохо. Однако, сразу становится ясно, чем вдохновлялись авторы (которые вроде как отчасти российские), ТУТ СЭМОМ ПАХНЕТ. Люблю серьёзного Сэма. Из минусов: импакта от оружия не чувствуется совсем, как будто горохом стреляешь; Игра очень коричневая, не смотря на крутой греко-римский сеттинг, более коричневая игра, пожалуй, только фар край 2 с обилием негров и Африки; Огромное обилие бесполезного/неэффективного оружия, в will rock тебе очень быстро дают миниган и в этот момент пропадает смысл использовать практически любое другое оружие, и не потому что миниган хорош (а он хорош и патронами кормят обильно), а потому что остальное оружие никчемно; Само оружие, помимо бесполезности, не интересное в своем замысле; крутого метола как в меню в самой игре мало, а вместо него играет какая-то мыльная опера. Сюжет тотальный кринж, но возможно в этом и смысл, в Сэме вместо сюжета было 5 предложений, бегущих по экрану. Из плюсов : Крутой греко-римский сеттинг; крутой миниган; нормальный графон и анимации на 2003 год, и пожалуй это все. Я бы конечно в 9 случаев из 10 предпочел Серьёзного Сэма, но это нормальная игра, и возможно кто-то даже предпочёл бы ее нежели Сэма. 5/10 »
« Привет! Завершил игру Will Rock (чисто вспомнил что за она.. Впервые игру увидел в 2004. Игра местами за**выет, но местами даёт повеселится. Локации есть хорошие, есть и по хуже. Радует только концовка игры но не то что есть до финала. Перебор с врагами и локациями (они по большей части слишком душные). Стоит отметить хорошую музыку и разнообразие врагов плюс вооружение. Боссы фигня полная - кроме Зевса (достал конкретно под финал). С ним легко справится если под него залезть и лупить по ногам. Итог - больше к подобной игре я не при коснусь. Намудрили с игрой разрабы. С критиками соглашусь и оставлю свою оценку 50/100 »
« I bought this game when it came out, and I think it's very good. Great weapons. Flaming arrows and a toxic gun that explodes enemies along with more traditional ones. I play all the Serious Sam games, and while Will Rock isn't as good, its still a very enjoyable game to play. I recommend it to anyone who likes FPS games. I wish it would be updated so it could run on Steam and Win 10. I bought an old win XP 32 bit computer just to play it. »
« Shameless knock-off of Serious Sam. Has no gameplay loop it can call its own, and in general is the definition of mindless, the antithesis of what it's leeching off of. »

« В главном меню звучит бессмертный I Wanna Rock в исполнении Twisted Sister, что настраивает на какое то крутое мочилово. Правда в самой игре музыка куда менее эпична и состоит из коротеньких зацикленных треков, которые порой бывают вообще не в тему. По настоящему порадовала только локация, где звучит "в пещере горного короля", забавный момент, но лишь один за игру. Ну а мочить мы будем каких то щупленьких дохляков, в основном умирающих от одного выстрела из стандартного пистолета и которые вовсе не так многочисленны как хотелось бы. Игра, очевидно, берёт пример с Серьёзного Сэма и хочет повторить его успех, но результат выходит, мягко говоря, не серьёзный. Довольно слабенький шутер, на мой взгляд. »
