« A veritable master class of all-round game development. From a sensational single-player experience that never takes any short-cuts and maintains its story's mythological credibility right to the end to the co-operative online play to the robust, balanced, and just plain fun multiplayer modes, this is a package of content that more than earns its $60 price tag... [It's] this season's biggest PS3 victory. [Nov 2009, p.42] »
« Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. It looks amazing, plays like a dream and the voice-acting/story-telling will hook you in right from the off. PS3 officially has it's a killer-app and a million tears are shed by 360 fanboys. »
« Unless you're born without thumbs, eyes or a sense of humour, it's obvious that Uncharted 2 is a 10/10 game after two minutes of the first level...It's the most complete, polished and fun adventure game - and maybe just game - on PS3, and it's absolutely essential. [Nov 2009, p.101] »
« Could use many words to describe Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, but I will just use one. Too beautiful. »
« Whether or not the multiplayer sticks, however, is arguably a footnote, because at the core of Uncharted 2 is an action-adventure masterpiece whose minor flaws are washed away on a tide of rhythm and spectacle - one that would still be an essential experience even without the option to pull your friends off cliffs and play capture-the-heirloom. »
« It takes elements from a lot of games - the exploration of Tomb Raider, climbing of Prince of Persia/Assassin's Creed, combat from Gears of War and stealth from Splinter Cell, yet it amalgamates all of these elements perfectly into one package. You can't compare it to any other game. »
« Uncharted 2 does not reinvent the gaming language, but pushes this genre to new limits. If you don't have a PS3, buy one to play this game. »
« Naughty Dog have created an amazing movie adventure on the PS3 with unparalleled graphics, fantastic dialogue and amazing platforming elements. There is no need to wait for the film version of this game, as it's already arrived in everyone's living room. Unmissable. »

« Abi bu oyun bir şaheser mükemmel muazzam diyecek kötü bir kelime yok harika ötesi bir oyun »
« Gameplaywise this game is much better than the original: there is a much needed stealth mechanic, the guns have a realistic recoil and there are more guns to choose from in general. Some of the action sequences in this game are INSANE, like the game begins with you hanging form a derailed train, there is a tank roaming through a peaceful tibetian village, helicopters chasing you on buildings and a train, it is genuinely like an action movie, but you being able to control the main character feels so so cool. In comparison to the first game the npcs actually help you kill the enemies and that is much appreciated. The story on the other hand is also well-written, even though I don't like Chloe. She just appears out of nowhere, apparently is the love interest for Drake, even though the first game sets this role for Elena, and she has some annoying one liners. Thankfully at the end of the game Elena becomes the love interest and Chloe isn't the main point of interest. The ending feels rewarding. At the start of the game I did get lost once or twice and didn't know where to go, but this was only at the beginning. I still love the chemistry between the characters and how they talk like real human beings. I love the ability to look a different way after beating the game, activating quirky cheats and tweets, this makes the game more replayable and I wish modern games also have those funny settings. »
« Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is an astounding video game full of life, beauty, and character; I’m staggered as to how I’ve never played this beforehand. You play as professional treasure hunter Nathan Drake who, alongside his friends, is on a quest to discover Shambhala orShangri-La, a mythical city with a multitude of riches and treasures such as the Cintamani Stone, which hails its holders with eternal life. The protagonist's friends, whether old or new, express authentic banter that makes them so likeable and show a huge amount of solidarity and loyalty, I felt a sense of shame if any burdens and adversity had hit them. As your character heads out on this endeavour, the game places the protagonist into various dilemmas and action scenes. It reminiscent of Hollywood blockbusters especially with the game magnificent soundtrack while the multitude of locations and biomes that keeps the game fresh and unique. My favourite parts were the puzzle-solving sections because it requires a lot of critical thinking and wit that you don’t really see in most video games. I’m particularly a fan of Drake's journal that the character uses during these segments because it’s detailed and feels very realistic, as you can actually turn the pages to see the specific info one requires. The complexity and attention to detail in these various scenarios are so unbelievably satisfying, you can’t put them into words unless you’ve played it for yourself. The various treasures that the player can collect are an excellent element of this game; it’s sort of feels like requirement to find them all despite being optional. The general presentation of the game is amazing and something to be lauded for however the actual gameplay is more of a mixed bag for me. However, compared to the first title with its generally mediocre gameplay such as the combat, there is a lot to be praised. The guns in this game are superb and great fun to use for a variety of reasons, such as the improved quickdraw of the weapons like Assault Rifles and the Pistols. The increased ammo capacity makes it so that I'm less likely to leave cover in order to retrieve more ammo and potentially get killed. The improvement Drake’s grenades received by implementing them alongside aiming your weapon was a creative move by the devs, thus making the gunplay more exciting and **** platforming within this game is very impressive, such as when it intertwines with the puzzle-solving segments; I appreciated the 360 rope swinging mechanics, especially when it can be used to collect hidden treasures. However, it’s very inconsistent and unfair at times if you don’t time your jumps perfectly, as most of my deaths in this game came from jumping out of bounds, instantly killing you. I love the addition of the stealth mechanics into the game because of how rewarding it feels if used accurately, especially because there was none in the first game. They feel very satisfying behind covers, whether standing or crouching, and ledges as they yield unique animations that look incredible. Unfortunately, there weren’t many opportunities to utilise stealth other than maybe 1 or 2 chapters, which feels like a missed opportunity to me. There are a variety of enemies you can encounter, ranging from standard soldiers with assault rifles, snipers and rocket launchers, to heavily armoured soldiers who wield shotguns and mini-guns, making the game a lot more interesting and challenging. However, considering that most combat encounters take place in very cramped areas alongside your character not having much health, it sort of feels like a mismatch most of the time fighting these guys, especially in tight environments. Despite me coming off as if I’m reaching for anything to scrutinise, Uncharted 2 is an absolute masterpiece of a video game. It has an incredible story, setting, great combat and platforming and a presentation so awe-inspiring, you’d be turning in your grave if you haven’t played it before. Although the elements that made the game so critically acclaimed have aged tremendously since its release, the game is still a timeless classic. 8/10 (It would have been a 9/10 if the multiplayer servers were still up.) »
