Treason
Treason, un jeu indépendant disponible sur PC (Microsoft Windows) depuis le 31 janvier 2023, utilise le moteur Source pour proposer une expérience où un groupe de personnages découvre un cadavre et doit identifier des traîtres cachés parmi eux. Les joueurs innocents doivent rassembler des indices afin de démasquer et éliminer les meurtriers. Certains joueurs interrogés sur Metacritic ont exprimé leur enthousiasme, évoquant le désir de retrouver la sensation des premières parties de Trouble in Terrorist Town ou de Garry's Mod, et recommandant chaudement le titre en soulignant que, en tant que jeu Source, il est naturellement réussi et d'autant plus agréable à plusieurs.

« want to get that feeling back? that feeling of 1.6, or those good ol times back when Gmod was new and exciting? playing ttt for the first time, the people you'd meet, the random stuff you'd see? remember that? well you don't have to, it's still here with Treason, one of the best free games out now. Play it, love it, hate it because Klaus (the creator of the game) shoot you in the most way possible again, then love it again. Have playtested this game for the past year, it's only gotten better, and I doubt those improvements will stop being worked on and added. This game is the game to pubstomp, the game to play if you want that chaotic feeling of TTT like it used to be way back when, the game that gives you that warm feeling again, just no , unadulterated FUN (with a side of drinking while playing because that makes it all the more chaotic and thus fun). »

« It's a replica of TTT with some cool additions and quirks. The maps are great, the weapons feel good and the game in general has a lot of personality. It's biggest flaw is the developers' decisions regarding community, they refuse the idea of in-game moderation/staff which leads to a lot of toxicity and votekick abuse. Usually this issue wouldn't be such a big problem, you could just find a different server and move on but Treason is extremely small and there's usually only 2 servers active at a time maximum. New players will be instantly driven away if this happens to them leading to the game never growing like I wish it could. »
