Sorti le 29 mars 2006 sur Xbox 360 et PC, Top Spin 2 est une simulation de tennis développée par Indie Built et éditée par 2K Sports. Le titre reprend les bases de son prédécesseur en les enrichissant grâce à la technologie « Digital Identity » qui permet de créer un avatar aux détails poussés, des coiffures aux vêtements en passant par les accessoires. Le mode carrière propose de vivre le circuit professionnel dans des stades dynamiques où l'environnement réagit aux échanges, le tout porté par des animations fluides et une réalisation en haute définition mettant en vedette les plus grandes stars de l'époque telles que Maria Sharapova, Venus Williams, Andy Roddick, Lleyton Hewitt et Roger Federer.
Côté contenu, l'aventure principale demande une dizaine d'heures pour être bouclée, tandis que les joueurs les plus complétistes y consacreront environ vingt-trois heures. La version PC intègre une protection SecuROM V7. Sur le plan de l'accueil, le jeu obtient une note moyenne de 70 sur Metacritic et un agrégat de 73,09. La presse a salué la qualité visuelle « next-gen » et la profondeur accrue par rapport au premier opus, comme le note AceGamez, tandis que le magazine finlandais Pelit juge l'expérience excellente malgré une courbe d'apprentissage jugée un peu trop raide et l'absence d'un mode d'entraînement libre. Du côté des joueurs, un utilisateur de Metacritic mentionne avoir apprécié de retrouver les sensations de la version PlayStation 2 sur cette itération Xbox 360.

« I recently bought this game I knew it was one of the oldest 360 games out there. I love tennis so I had to try it. I have played Top Spin on Ps2 many times. TS 2 Is better. The movements are improved and the career mode is challenging and has added drama with giving you a rival. The career mode follows the tennis schedule wonderfully. You have to train ferociously to be able to beat the top players in the game with your career player. I played Top Spin 3 on Nintendo Wii it was lacking everything this game has already. I picked this game up for under 8 dollars. Well worth a try for any fan of tenns. »
