Fixed: When joining an online game in progress from the Play Menu, input for backing out of the substitution menu is incorrectly disabled in some cases. Fixed: Last names "Balinstandos" and "Hiwanase" are not announced by the in-game announcer. Update 6 Patch Notes
Update 6 is currently rolling out on Steam. Here are the patch notes: New PC Platform - EA App: Standard and Ballpark Editions are now available on EA App. Voice chat can be performed between EA App players and Steam players. New Accessibility Features: Speech-to-text chat and text-to-speech functionality can be enabled via the new Accessibility tab in the Options menu (or via Xbox's settings on Xbox). A new menu narration option that narrates to the accessibility features has been added. Players will receive a one-time prompt about enabling menu narration. The option can then be enabled and disabled from the Accessibility tab. Improvements: In Online Leagues, CPU teams are now indicated with a unique icon. Minor lighting improvements to Stade Royale have been made. Minor audio improvements have been made. Minor UI improvements have been made. Bug Fixes: Fixed: Pitchers with a high arm angle exhibit an abnormal wrist and arm action when pitching from the stretch with runners on base. Fixed: Fielders completely miss a class of catches that look like they should catch, particularly when the fielder turns away from the ball as the ball arrives. Fixed: Pressing the right trigger during a power pitch or while loading a power swing will prematurely end the pitching minigame or prematurely start a swing respectively. Fixed: Making an in-game substitution in between two or more defensive position swaps can leave one or more players in the wrong location on the field for the next pitch. Fixed: When a baserunner is tagging up on a fly ball, holding down the advance all button slightly before the ball is caught can lead to the baserunner ignoring the input. Fixed: The CPU can still inadvertently leave a pitcher in the starting rotation in to pitch after using the pitcher to pinch hit or pinch run. Fixed: CPU fielders with the Cannon Arm trait may throw directly to the cutoff man when their throw is strong enough to go directly to the base. Fixed: The logo editor can crash when attempting to copy a logo after making alternate uniform changes. Fixed: In Franchise, Season, and Elimination modes, uniform selections for CPU teams do not persist in midgame saves and the default home or away uniform is always used instead. Fixed: In Franchise mode, the League Leaders screen only presents stats from the latest 10 seasons instead of the lastest 50 seasons. Fixed: In Online Leagues, CPU vs CPU games count towards the league activity measurement shown in the list of Online Leagues. Fixed: Game crashes after finding a Pennant Race or Online League match while in the middle of a Shuffle Draft for another Online League. Fixed: When in a Shuffle Draft with an online party, the game can crash when one player is on the roster view and another player picks someone other than the top left choice. Fixed: In Franchise mode, the Franchise Sign & Release screen crashes if there are no available position players or no available pitchers and the filter button is pressed to show only players of that missing type. Fixed: The Player Movement screen from the League Editor can still crash in some rare circumstances, particularly in leagues with no free agents. Fixed: The last name "Butterfinger" is not announced by the stadium announcer. Fixed: Minor UI issues.

Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)
« At this point, there’s not much I can say about Super Mega Baseball 4 that I didn’t already say about Super Mega Baseballs 1, 2, and 3: like its predecessors, it’s an outstanding baseball game that’s a lot more fun to play than the annualized PlayStation flagship MLB game. Any worries that a higher profile or a bigger budget would hurt the game are unfounded. In fact, four games in, this might just be the best Super Mega Baseball game yet. »
« I found myself having fun with Super Mega Baseball 4. I liked how I could just jump in and play a short inning game when short on time, or set up a longer tournament when I wanted a little more baseball action than that. The online play works well, games are relatively quick so you can easily get a few games in without a major investment in time. And the adjustable challenge makes it fun for younger as well as older gamers, as well as those who only casually follow the sport and those who can reel off the stats for each of the legends in the game. »
« Super Mega Baseball 4 is my favourite baseball game of all time thanks to its top-notch customizable gameplay, oodles of modes, and hilarious and welcoming atmosphere. Plus, it reminded me why I've always loved baseball games even from the good old NES days. »
« Super Mega Baseball 4 may not reinvent the franchise's formula, but the addition of the Legends and the massive visual upgrade seen here is more than enough to keep the series on track. It is highly recommended for baseball fans looking for a light and quick fun. »
« Super Mega Baseball 4 is mostly more of the same, but when we’re talking about such a strong series, that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The excellent core gameplay here is as great as ever, and the fantastic new Shuffle Draft mode combined with a ton of baseball legends to take on the field should grab the attention of both new players and existing fans of the series. If you’re happy with one of the past games in the series, Super Mega Baseball 4 may not be a must-have upgrade, but it’s definitely the best baseball game on the market. »
« Overall, Super Mega Baseball 4 is the best arcade-inspired baseball game on the market. It also does a great job with its simulation aspects while keeping the Super Mega Baseball form. My favorite part of the game, aside from its strong gameplay, is the amount of customization there is. Whether you want to customize players, teams, leagues, or difficulty levels, there is something you can change. Overall, Super Mega Baseball 4 is a great baseball videogame experience, especially if you want a departure from the MLB. »
« Super Mega Baseball 4 is a sports game suitable for multiple types of players, be it the more casual ones who want to play a game without too much stress from time to time or those who want to jump into multi-season leagues with the need to manage the entire team from multiple angles. It's not a huge step forward from the previous chapter, but with the many modes and its light-hearted style, it's a good way to enjoy baseball without having to throw on the more realistic MLB The Show. »
« A really fun playing baseball game that mixes arcade with authenticity while featuring some of the sports most legendary players while featuring satisfying pitching and batting mechanics. The new and returning ballparks look great too and add to the environment. However, lack of features like a proper create-a-player mode, Home Run Derby mode and even something small like Replay Mode leaves Super Mega 4 Baseball just shy of a Grand Slam but is a good solid swing up the middle for a base hit to give the team the lead. »

« SMB4 is by far one of the best arcade baseball game available. The gameplay is extremely smooth mixing arcade and simulation style gameplay that flows well together. The franchise mode offers fully customizable leagues. Teams can be customized by logo, team name, player names and appearances. The franchise mode tracks stats for every player in said league. I am currently in my 13th season and players that once played for me I can recognize and track their stats. SMB4 rivals MLB the show in terms of fun! »
« Absolutely love it. Very simple to pick up and play but with lots of depth if you want it. Feels really good to play, the pitching and fielding are as fun as the batting. »
« It is a very fun Arcade style game with cool legends, content creators, and their OG players. You can make it as challenging as you want and it is awesome for getting the younger generation into baseball. Not a lot of bad about this game. »
« Love it. I buy this every times a new one come out, having bought 2/3/4 now - Each incarnation just keep getting better. By far the best looking of the bunch. Im not aware of any department in which this fourth installment is lacking. Love it. This and The Show are the two best baseball titles on any system and go perfectly hand in hand. Each feels so different from one another, in my opinion, both are worth buying as they are fun to play back to back. »
« I have owned all 4 releases of this series and have played each extensively. This is the best one date. For anyone who has played these games in the past, that should be enough said. If you haven't played this series and MLB The Show just isn't quite your thing, give this series a try. Game play is outstanding while the graphics go back to the old days of MLB Power Pros with a more polished and refined look. The addition of a lot of old time MLB player is welcomed, but the traditional Super Mega crew is still intact. Fantastic effort with this release and although it is a little pricey, I'm going to say that is worth every penny if you are a hardcore video baseball fan. Ignore Jacktronics review, another example of Metacritic troll that hates EA, Is an Xbox honk, and couldn't write a legit game review even he did actually play the game for more than an hour. »
« I'd like to say that I like this game, but it was rushed for release. It's buggy as Hell. As you select teams, it usually takes 10-15 seconds for the next player/team to show. If you plan to customize this game, don't! Unless you can patch this yourself, you'll be waiting through EVERY menu. EA continues to destroy good game franchises. »
« Super Mega Baseball 4 is a very fun if not one of the best baseball games. And Metalhead did a great job by not having too much microtransactions and improving the gameplay and the core. What's more is improving the customization options, improving the depth and having the legends. Making for one very fun baseball game. »
