Impulsegamer 94/100

« Overall, a great experience for F1 and racing fans. I will probably play the career mode alongside the real life F1 2019 season in future. »

Multiplayer.it 90/100

« While the F1 series by Codemasters celebrates its tenth birthday, F1 2019 is the best ever with revamped graphics and a nice Formula 2 addition. »

The Games Machine 90/100

« F1 2019 is exactly what it’s supposed to be: the best of its kind, at least until next year. »

Gameblog.fr 90/100

« Excellence in Formula One. That's what comes to mind when it comes to summarize the qualities of F1 2019. Extremely complete, very well thought out at all levels, this 2019 edition has everything to seduce. Whether you are a motor sports enthusiast or a fan of the series, you will not be disappointed. Gentlemen, start your engines. »

Gaming Nexus 90/100

« F1 2019 encompasses the breadth of experiences, car choices, track choices that provide a far deeper experience for the player than would be available in a generic sim. That depth truly demonstrates the complexity of not only the hardware, but the ever-changing conditions during a race. The updated graphics make use of more sophisticated lighting conditions, but most of the game will be familiar from last year. Formula 1 is the most sophisticated, expensive, unique, and popular auto racing league on the planet; it would take close to a decade to build a game/simulator to do it justice in all of its beauty and complexity. F1 2019 might have just accomplished exactly that. »

Game Revolution 90/100

« Simply put, F1 2019 is fantastic. There’s enough here to take you well into next season (and beyond), while the Career Mode has finally shaken off the cobwebs to emerge as a genuinely thrilling highlight that players will pump hours and days into. »

The Digital Fix 90/100

« F1 2019 makes itself available to a bigger audience than ever before with its considerate difficulty curve and fan pleasing content additions. »

Jeuxvideo.com 90/100

« This year, Codemasters has reached another level of greatness with its F1 2019. Great career mode and improvements on the AI is enough to turn F1 2019 into one of the most memorable racing games of these past years. »

« Introduced me into f1 games, and loved it, did everything right, and the little story for the career mode was a great addition, they should bring that back, good game in content, handling, and fun, nothing else to say goated game »

Grabuss 9/10

« I've been playing this game for over 280 hours, and i must say that F1 2019 is a very good game that makes you feel like you're actually competing with other F1 drivers and that you're actually an F1 driver, the handling is good when you use the pad in F1 2019, it's much more enjoyable to drive than in F1 22 for example. The soundtrack is also excellent, before i start my career or just be in the main menu, i need to stay a few more minutes because the soundtrack is so good! I love that you can also drive classic cars, and you can use them in league races!, the optimization is somewhat solid, the only moment i experience a slight FPS drop is when i'm in Monaco (turn 12). The multiplayer is also fun, but sadly in 2023 most of the times the multiplayer is dead, but you actually have more chance to play with others when you choose league racing rather than MP. The engine sounds are also nice, but they could have been much better (for example, the Honda engine doesn't sound good at all), my favorite engine sounds are Ferrari and Renault. My score is 9/10, i highly recommend buying this game, Codemasters did a good job. »

« Great experience, realism at its finest considering it was made in 2019, just pure class! »

« I'm still enjoy this game, so far I don't feel the need to get the 2020 edition, on PS4 standard works very well. A solid game for F1 lovers. »

Pegnionomikon 9/10

« I am not a great fan of racing games, but I wanted to have a very good racing game. It seemed to me that this was what I was looking for. My instinct was right. Great graphics, great gameplay. Very well delivered, wholly. I would recommend it, especially for the racing fans. »

« I love the new management stuff inside the new version also track are very realistic great game if you love F1 or racing in general you will be entertained for hours. »

« Solid foundations, but even as of early June 2020, the game is still somewhat buggy and Hamilton is still a ruthless **** magically immune to damage from contact he loves to initiate. The game could also do with *way* more variety in writing. Within one season, I've heard the exact same commentary and the reporter's questions countless times. Rain during practice? Prepare for the same line about the data gathered being useless. The reporter's questions also often don't reflect reality. For instance, if you finish after having lapped the second place (yes, I play on lower difficulty settings), the reporter will likely still ask for your comment on the *close* finish/battle between you and the runner-up. The F2 mode is also rather underutilized, especially in the career mode, in which it's relegated to the role of a bizarre half-tutorial half-montage. Finally, considering how many legacy cars there are in the game, I expected them to be used for more than a few minutes' optional event after every other GP in the career. Ideally, I would've loved full-blown historic GPs making proper use of F1's storied past, visiting tracks not on this season's calendar or perhaps past variants of current tracks. What we get instead is a jaw-dropping number of cosmetic microtransactions. »

« Positives - Best ever AI on a console racing game (maybe in any racing game ever) - they are pretty good at racing side-by-side and make generally good strategy calls - Career mode is there for those who enjoy it; Championships mode is very good with a wide variety of championships including sprint series and classic car series - Decent handling model, very playable on both controller and wheel - Good graphics with great lighting and colours - Online can be fun - The classic car selection is very good - A full race weekend is very immersive as one must consider weather forecast, tyre selection and condition for each session, practice sessions and management of car components Negatives - Handling and force feedback is not on the level of dedicated sim racers - Career mode gimmicks including Research & Development and driver transfers ruin any sense of realism as you progress through your career - Online can be a mess a demoralising to play - No classic tracks - Some bugs e.g. Safety Car glitches can ruin your race - Graphics look slightly cartoony and not like real life - they are too bright and not gritty enough Overall a great game mainly due to the AI being very good and engaging to race against in long-distance races. Accessible to all types of players and an immersive challenge for any F1 fan. Can't give it a 9 or 10 due to a myriad of slight drawbacks which could all be quite easily improved upon. »
