Gameplay de Rise: Race the Future

NintendoWorldReport 80/100

« Rise: Race the Future is a fantastic racing game at its core that is held back only by the limits of its own ambition. While it would benefit greatly from a further exploration of its own mechanics and multiplayer functionality, it remains a very fun and technically-solid racer that can more than hold its own against the system’s best. »

Gaming Age 75/100

« Rise: Race The Future could definitely be improved, but there’s a good enough base here that if you’re looking for a fun futuristic racing game, this one (mostly) delivers. »

Pure Nintendo 75/100

« As the checkered flag comes down on RISE: Race the Future, it has finished strong. The graphics, the driving mechanics, the tracks, the vehicles, and the play-time are all very good. The game is fun to play and challenging enough to keep you coming back for more. Even if you normally don’t get into racing games, RISE is definitely worth having in your Switch collection. Unfortunately, the lack of multiplayer is a significant omission that we can’t ignore. »

Nintendo Life 70/100

« As long as you’re playing it docked and willing to put the time in to master its helium-light handling, Rise eventually reveals itself to be a rewarding and visually fantastic arcade style racer with an interesting Challenges mode. Its slightly blurry handheld visuals and the complete lack of multiplayer are disappointing, but persevere with its slippery steering and the payoff is a fun – if unforgiving – solo racing game. »

FNintendo 70/100

« Rise: Race the Future is a racing game that reverses the trend towards complexity and realism and exchanges it for simplicity in a work that is mostly centered on driving skills for rather short but demanding challenges. Thanks to its remarkable art style and good selling price, Rise: Race the Future is a good choice for fans of racing games but the lack of a multiplayer experience is its biggest shortcoming. »

Nintendo Insider 70/100

« Rise: Race the Future is a visually impressive arcade experience whose futuristic setting makes for plenty of fast-paced action with some interesting twists too. A lack of multiplayer and niggling control issues aside, Rise: Race the Future still makes for a thrilling change of pace especially if you’re starting to feel a little burned out on kart racers. »

Worth Playing 65/100

« Even if you were to look at this title without comparing it to other arcade racers, Rise: Race the Future would simply be fine. The track designs are good, and the Challenge mode offers up something in lieu of multiplayer. However, with a limited selection of tracks and cars when compared to other games, Rise feels rather limited in terms of what the player can do before boredom sets in. Ultimately, the game does well as a quick snack, but it's doesn't need to be a permanent part of one's racing library. »

GameSpace 60/100

« I found the game rather enjoyable as I could freely pick it up to play a few levels or challenges. It was nice to be able to play a quick race between cooking dinner or that small time between I need to go to bed and well going to bed. Would I recommend this game to others, yes but let’s be honest this is not for everyone? If you are simulation racer type you may find this game a bit too loose and wild. »

« A really solid and impressively looking game. One of the most gorgeous visually racing games on the switch. Driving feels incredible and the tracks are just beautiful with an interesting though limited selection of vehicles. I really like the realistic and detailed approach this game has to offer. It's an almost perfect game for the switch if you can get it for a lower price since it lacks in terms of variety in vehicles and tracks. »

Gumdrop 8/10

« I'm not a huge racing fan but I like to have a couple a them on tap for when I'm im the mood for it. So I'm not really looking for the most realistic or challenging racing game out there. I'm looking for something I can just have a little fun with in short burst from time to time. And Rise: Race the Future hita the spot. It took a race or 2 to get used to the physics but once I did, I had no troubles with the controls. You can dial in stability and steering sensitivity so that's nice. And hey, it turns into a airboat on the water and that's awesome. Overall, it's a fun arcade racer. »

FoxyChalet 7/10

« Well, this is how one of the greatest handheld dev teams in all of gaming came to an end. They pushed the limits of every generation of nintendo handheld, then sadly the technical-brains behind the operation passed away towards the beginning of this games' development. It had technical problems early on, from what I hear, but honestly it functions beautifully. The options are expansive, but can take a while to adjust. I'm not really sure what the game is trying to do, it feels like slow pace burnout but then your car just spins around like gran turismo with no assists on. It's just ok, pretty boring, but better than most racing games these days. You can progress in Co-op, so that's a plus. »

DavidNaylor 8/10

« Super solid racer on the switch. Looks good, performance is rock solid and your cars can transform into boats on the fly which is great. Controls for driving on the street and water are also very compelling. Cool Ridge-Racer-like car design. Championships and the soundtrack are super-generic and the game in general kinda lacks an identity or something that makes it stand out. Nonetheless it's good fun and support by the developer has been great (added 60Fps, multiplayer). »

Orville 10/10

« This game has received constant updates throughout its life, making it one of the best arcade racers on Switch. It now runs at 60 FPS and features co-op multiplayer. »

jcasualmente 8/10

« Honestly, Rise: Race the Future does nothing innovative, but it just manages to bring a good combination of elements that satisfy fans of single player experience. The graphics are above average, quite beautiful for the Switch, and that really impresses. The turbo gathering options are also innovative and I confess that I have never seen anything like it before - I loved being able to have options. The biggest problem is due to the extremely repetitive and generic music, but of course a multiplayer mode would come in very handy in the future. As the game was upgraded to 60 fps after several months of release, I have high hopes that it will also get at least a splitscreen to challenge friends and family on the same console. However, Rise: Race the Future is highly recommended for those who likes just to sit down and play, as well as having fun with the right challenges. »

BuonaTendo 10/10

« Ótima experiência tanto TV quanto portátil, Rally Arcade de qualidade. Bons gráficos, 60fps com opção de melhor resolução e 30fps. »

sixlink 7/10

« There is some excellent arcade racing to be done, shame more wasn't made of racing on all surfaces (like the water, a great mechanic). Desperately needs multiplayer and a few other racing options to make it great, but a really bold and solid foundation. Reflected in the price, it's half **** game, looking fwd to whether or not the rest will be delivered »
