Sonic Rivals
Sonic Rivals

« Fast-paced action and plenty of challenge make for a really fun title. [Jan 2007, p.72] »
« Fast and furious and good old-fashioned Sonic fun, for all its faults. It looks splendid, too, with perspective changes and all manner of background detail. [Christmas 2006, p.58] »
« It mixes snazzy visuals with a good sense of speed, so there's little doubt hardcore Sonic fans will find a lot to like. Plus, it has a rewarding multiplayer mode and wager system, which only adds to the experience. »
« Sonic Rivals runs a fairly solid race, but it’s running in circles around a limited amount of content. »
« A fun but shallow game. The graphics and speed-based level design are great, but the game's short length and lack of truly compelling replay value are cause for hesitation. »
« As the name suggests, Rivals plays well against a friend. Racing the computer is cool, but costing your bud the race with a last-minute cheap shot is a whole lot better. »
« Sonic Rivals feels a little like a mini-game to a bigger game. We expected more content than this. The cards are utterly useless in their attempt to milk replay out of the title, and seemed thrown in at the last minute. »
« Sonic Rivals focuses on the speed of Sonic, there is never a dull moment. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« Boring, you will most likely turn the game off within 20 to 30 minutes or so. »
« It was a pretty interesting take on the vs mode found in Sonic 2 and 3, but most of the stages feel pretty generic and all 4 campaigns feel the same besides the characters special moves and story. Also I hate the wait time you get when you die and racing against silver was annoying. »
« Sonic Rivals is a high-speed experiment that basically asks, "What if a platformer was actually a drag race?" On one hand, it’s a visual knockout for the PSP, capturing that crisp, vibrant "blue sky" energy and 2.5D depth that makes the handheld screen feel massive. When you’re perfectly chaining homing attacks and boost pads to leave a rival in the dust, the sense of momentum is unrivaled—it’s pure, distilled adrenaline that makes the sluggish, "press A to eventually move" pacing of a Mario Kart race look like a funeral procession in a school zone. »
« Sonic Rivals' Core Gameplay is fun and thrilling. But Making you replay it 4 Times with little to no Changes bogs it down. Coupled with a Terrible Storyline and Pretty meh Graphics turn this Good game into a Just Ok Game that isn't very memorable. »
« Great game, it was probably one of the best games from Sonic's 15th anniversary, there's a lot of stage, cards and more! But 4 characters isn't a lot, but there is different dialogues on each campaign on the story mode, definitely recommend or even obligatory on your PSP collection. »
