Originally released for the Sega Saturn, Sonic R is a racing game featuring characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Sonic and Tails came across an announcement one day about a competition called the "World Grand Prix" to determine the fastest in the world. Sonic initially showed no interest, but upon seeing Dr. Eggman's name among the participants, he decided to join. Knuckles wanted to settle the score with Sonic, Amy had unwavering belief that Sonic would definitely show up, and Eggman secretly prepared a few secret weapons. Who will claim the glory of the World Grand Prix?

« My favorite Sonic racing game, honestly. It feels like a mix between racing and classic 3D platforming, with different paths and some collectibles to get, and it works! It’s a short game, but going through these 5 tracks while picking up coins/emeralds, unlocking new characters, all of that while listening to an AMAZING soundtrack feels really nice. This game got a bad rap in the 2010’s, and it’s sad because it really is an underrated game. »

« Sonic R is like if you took big rigs Over the road racing and combined it with thick of it by Ksi it makes it 10 times peaker this game has a bunch unlockable characters this game is as good as Sonic 06 and big rigs over the road racing makes sense because these games are both peaker the music is very terrible though but it's worth the money I threw at it »

« Sonic R definitely does not deserve the hate at all because it is a solid racing game except for two things: Amy is not racing like most of the other characters, she is in a kart. Second, the controls are pretty clunky when you first play but once you play it a bit more it's pretty fun. »
« sonic r is really fun to play with friends in the battle mode. or racing mode in singleplayer trying to collect all the chaos emeralds and s-coins my only issue is that the controls are funky. the soundtrack is a banger and there are just so many other things in the game. »
