This traditional point-and-click adventure game is a classical Who Dunnit. As inspector Jack Norm, you have to investigate which of the suspects might have a reason to want Walter Jones dead, talk to everybody, collect evidence or compare fingerprints. Your PPA (Personal Police Assistant), a kind of inventory/recording device, helps you during your inquiries. Sinking Island can be played in two modes: in real-time mode, it's a race against time. In adventure mode, you can go through each place at your own pace.

Walter Jones, a billionaire had planned on opening up a resort for the rich and famous, but was killed before his dream could be achieved. It's up to Detective Jack Norm to crack the case by interviewing the people on Sinking Island to get valuable clues.

From the creator of Syberia 1, Syberia 2, experience Benoit Sokal's fifth game.At the base of a cliff on Sagorah Island, 82 year-old American billionaire Walter Jones is found dead next to his life's work; a massive Art Deco tower he had dreamed would become an elite getaway for international jet-setters. The only clues found at the scene include his wheelchair, abandoned at the edge of the cliff, and multiple scratches on his face. One of these scratches appears to have been made by a woman. Ten people were present on the island at the time of his death, among them the heirs to his vast fortune and legacy. Was his death an accident or murder?
Players assume the role of Jack Norm, a federal agent turned private dectective, who is taking a break in the atolls of the Indian Ocean when an old friend requests his assistance with the case. Jack has just three days to complete 10 gameplay missions, collecting valuable clues and storing evidence in his PPA (Personal Police Assistant). He will interrogate each of the 10 unusual suspects, using his keen deduction skills to determine who among them may have the most to gain from Walter Jones's death.

« Плюсы: - Графически проект очень неплох - задники и фоновые картинки просто великолепны. И хотя со временем пейзажи унылого, тонущего острова приедаются, нельзя не отметить их привлекательность. - Звук в игре хорош. Фоновая музыка создает правильную атмосферу, то нагнетая обстановку, то успокаивая игрока. Персонажи озвучены великолепно - как в оригинальной версии, так и в локализации. - Перевод тоже выполнен отлично. Минусы: - диалогов много, они хорошо сыграны и озвучены, но уж слишком нудны и затянуты. Столь пространных обсуждений не было еще ни в одной игре. Спасает только возможность пропускать реплики. - персонажи. Эти квадратные и угловатые модели, эти кирпичные лица явно запомнятся надолго... А кошмарная мимика и жестикуляция - так тем более. - невозможно собрать всех "болванчиков" в одном месте. В течение первого дня, пока остров еще не начал тонуть, игроку предстоит наворачивать круг за кругом, собирая различные бесполезные отпечатки ног и пальцев и обсуждая каждую улику. На второй день станет проще - все скучкуются в отеле. - обилие пиксельхантинга. Это страшное, нудное и утомительное занятие отнимает час за часом. Если вы пропустите какую-то мелкую деталь, то в ряде ситуаций просто не сможете продолжить игру дальше. Вердикт: безусловно, Бенуа Сокаль создал хороший проект - игра интересна и захватывающа, хотя временами может приесться. Не стоит скрывать, до Syberia с великолепной Кейт Уолкер в главной роли Джеку Норму далеко. Как и всем остальным персонажам. »
