Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)
« Somehow, despite the complexity, Devil Survivor Overclocked manages to remain accessible throughout. »
« If you're looking for a graphical powerhouse, you should buy something else, but Overclocked is something unique in the 3DS field: a deep adventure lasting dozens of hours. It's a great example of its genre, and even those that played it before have enough to pull them back in. »
« You'll want to play this one even if you've beaten the non-Overclocked version more than once. [Sept 2011, p.78] »
« Devil Survivor: Overclocked is a great expansion on an awesome game that offers hours and hours of quality strategy-RPG gameplay. »
« Those two minor criticisms aside, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked is a brilliant game made all the more notable as many of today's games shift towards Hollywood-like narratives. »
« There are elements we can't defend, such as the dated visuals, or the limited soundtrack, but taken as a whole, Devil Survivor Overclocked is a huge, ambitious game that works perfectly on its own terms. »
« A very good game, if not an unnecessary release. Minor enhancements to the graphics and sound coupled with the addition of an entire new day to play through are nice additions to the game, but shouldn't warrant another play through of the game for those who already experienced the first. »
« If you already own Devil Survivor, there isn't much here to entice you unless you're a hardcore SMT fan. If you don't own it, check it out. It's a fun title that does a lot of things well. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« This is one of those games that, as long as you don't take it too seriously, you will have a really good time with it. »
« I have reached the near end of the game and stopped. The gameplay is fun, and the story is passable. The mystery is interesting for most of the game, the problem is that once you know the answer to the mystery, it feels kind of underwhelming. It feels like the 'Law' route is too hypocritical, and the 'Chaos' is too destructive- Yeah, I know, I'm complaining about obvious things in a SMT game. I just hoped in a 3DS game it'd be different than SMT1, I don't know why, maybe because a few years have passed since then? Eh. Regardless, even with only the Neutral route making sense like in most SMT games, the game starts to fall apart when you realize you need to grind a lot in order to progress through most of its combat. This is a problem in that it takes a long while to grind, if it took less time, this wouldn't be an issue. Since fusing new demons and thinking tactically how I want to build them is actually one of the most fun it has been in the series for me. Meaning that the major issue here isn't the fusing and preperation for the combat, or the combat itself, is that there isn't a way to speed up grinding to prepare a proper team for the next story combat. How could they improve that? Make easy to kill repeated enemy encounters that give a lot of XP that'll pump you up to what the game believes is the appropriate level of demons, before making the level cap too large for the current monsters to be of any help unless you grinds like mad, which will give a good balance. This would require a lot more balancing and QA, but without it the game feels like a slog. The only big complaint I have is that the story gets dumb toward the end, and that, alongside with the constant need to grind, and the realization that only the Neutral ending made any narrative sense so moral-wise there was no point for all the time I wasted looking into all the other routes, I decided to stop. If the cool gameplay is gated by repeated grinding, and the answer to the mystery feels like a wet fart, then it's no longer appealing to keep going. Better luck next time, I guess. »

« I have a bit of nostalgia towards Devil Survivor Overclocked, as it was one of my first 3DS games, so I might have a bit of bias here with my review. But Devil Survivor is a definite top entry into the plethora of JRPG's that the 3DS had. SMT always has excellent world building in its games, and Devil Survivor is no exception. The soundtrack is one of the best in SMT's entirety. While some people will negatively dock points for either the shift to SRPG, or the overabundance of grinding (which you can use as a knock towards any RPG, btw), Devil Survivor's gameplay is an excellent evolution to the SMT formula, where each summoner has a small team of demons that can assist them. The difficulty is challenging, but not in an unfair way. Devil Survivor Overclocked is a great JRPG, and would have been a front runner for best 3DS RPG if not for FE Awakening. »
« Amazing game. Difficult, but fair (for the most part) »
« The best story in the entire Shin Megami Tensei franchise. Gameplay is solid, characters are great, difficulty is there, and soundtrack is good. Where the game really shines though is it's incredibly realistic portrayal of an apocalypse, with a demon-y spin! Seeing the struggles and conflicts overcome by the cast change their attitudes and alignments individually is such a treat. The story's conclusion, regardless of whom you side with, is always phenomenal. The 3ds re-release (overclocked) added an 8th day to the story for multiple routes, and two words: peak-fiction. I got the king of demons ending in my first playthrough and just... chills. »
« Graphics: 6/10 (It doesnt matter for me in smt games.) Music: 4/10 Most bad part of this game. Just one for battle. Mechanics: 10/10 Story: 8/10 with multiple endings. my Gameplay rate : 8/10 »
