The best Robocop game you could ever hope for? It’s a simple, ‘old-school’ action game, but a very effective one – the sort they don’t make anymore these days. It has an original and entertaining story, very faithful to the original material, wit...

This brutal '80s-inspired FPS and its expansion have dropped to 80% off on Fanatical

I was shocked by how quickly I fell in love with RoboCop: Rogue City back in late 2023. Of course, the '80s were in vogue at the time, offering those who lived them a dollop of nostalgia, and those who missed them a taste of a time they'll never know, but I didn't expect an FPS game based on an almost 40-year-old sci-fi movie series. Nonetheless, this RoboCop game somehow manages to come to life as a familiar throwback, while still utilising modern mechanics and gunplay. Best of all, it and its standalone expansion are cheaper than ever right now. An unannounced Hunter The Reckoning game has seemingly leaked, courtesy of Robocop Rogue City

A Robocop: Rogue City update that lasted just 31 minutes on Steam before it was reversed appears to have briefly replaced the entire game with another one. The build that appeared in its place, titled "Hunter," looks to be a very early build of a Hunter: The Reckoning game. Users that were reportedly able to download this before it was removed have shared images of a title screen bearing that name, along with some early locations of a quest where the player is gathering information about a bar shootout. Avis des critiques et joueurs

Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)

Shacknews 90/100

« Robocop: Rogue City is an argument that not only can licensing IP work well in smaller-scale games, but given the right combination of creativity and focus a more dormant IP can be especially effective. A property like Robocop does not have a clear position in pop culture right now, beyond the obvious late-80’s movie nostalgia. But the team at Teyon, with a combination of awareness and sincerity, definitely found one. I had so much fun blasting through waves of jabronis and laughing at Robocop’s earnest policing antics. In a crowded year like 2023, Rogue City is an unexpected gem. »

Gfinity 90/100

« RoboCop: Rogue City is the biggest surprise of the year, and one of the best shooters I've played in a long time. Fans of the franchise will delight in the story and world-building, all of which are completely loyal to the 1987 original. »

KeenGamer 90/100

« Thank you for your cooperation Teyon, in delivering an awesome game. RoboCop: Rogue City is basically as good as it gets when it comes to licensed games. The bar for licensed games is normally set low, particularly by stuff like the recent King Kong and Lord of the Rings games, but RoboCop effortlessly shoots towards the stars like an OCP spacecraft. It's a shooter that delivers great, mindless fun, but, much like the first movie itself, has tons of hidden depth. In the immortal words of Bixby Snyder, "I'd buy that for a dollar"! And you should too! »

PLAY! Zine 90/100

« This might be the best interpretation and adaptation of the RoboCop IP, as well as the greatest RoboCop game to date. Even though the gameplay can feel janky at times, Rogue City still offers a unique experience that you shouldn’t miss, especially if you’re a fan of the franchise. »

GameCritics 90/100

« Robocop: Rogue City exceeded my wildest expectations when it comes to what a Robocop game could be, and the team at Teyon should be immensely proud of delivering a true love letter to one of the defining films of the 1980s. Anyone who’s even a casual fan of Robocop should buy this game without hesitation as soon as feasibly possible — no Robocop fan will walk away disappointed, and this experience is worth way more than a dollar. »

4P.de 88/100

« Not a loveless licensing, but a real RoboCop game that doesn’t skimp on bullets or laughs. »

Gamers Heroes 85/100

« RoboCop Rogue City pays homage to its source material like no other. A faithful recreation of a beloved character and world over 30 years in the making. At its core, it’s a fantastic over-the-top 80s action shooter but dig a little deeper and you’ll find a dark, dystopian tale of man and machine more relevant today than ever. »

GameOver.gr 85/100

« Quite unexpectedly Robocop: Rogue City far surpassed our expectations. It really captures the essence of the first two films, offering a true sequel. Teyon managed to fully deliver the feeling of becoming Robocop. »

Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)

ItsAnutter 9/10

« A must have for all robocop 1 and 2 fans. It's actually a good game and very fun »

SeanMan12 9/10

« A beautiful love letter to a series that isn't hot, but has the soul to carry a fantastic game with great rpg elements and gameplay »

andysage 2/10

« The assets give a real nostalgia hit from the first and second films. But that's it. Completely pointless side-plots inhibit already mundane game play. »

MARCPFDIAS 9/10

pale81 8/10

« I screams the 80s, fantastic game, it doesn't try to be something else than just a plain shooter right in your face. Love it. »

tentongeek 5/10

« The only reason this gets a 5 is for the dedication to the original source material. Robocop is still one of my favorite dystopian movies from the 80s, but the nostalgia trip is all this game has. Right off the bat there was no reason to build this in Unreal 5 and require beefy GPA / Next Gen consoles to play it! The controls are horrible, the UI, and visuals were suited to a PS2/PS3 era game at best and the mechanics are dumb. The dialog and response options are lame. The campaign story and side quests are abysmally shallow and repetitive. This was such a let down that I actually refunded the game originally, only to be gifted it later - and then see it on sale afterwards for $5. Good riddance. Don't ever do this crap again! »
