Carole Quintaine 100/100

« Resident Evil Requiem delivers a powerful return to Raccoon City, blending emotional weight with masterfully paced survival horror…Its dual-protagonist structure offers two distinct yet perfectly balanced gameplay experiences. A stunning and confident evolution of the franchise that honors its legacy while pushing it forward. »

ComicBook 100/100

« Rather than trying to do something entirely new, the ninth mainline installment in the saga, Resident Evil Requiem, finds a way to perfectly mesh all of the best aspects of the series so far. The result doesn't just make Requiem one of the greatest Resident Evil games yet, but it stands as a perfect celebration of the franchise for its 30th anniversary. »

GAMINGbible 100/100

« As a horror game in its own right, Resident Evil Requiem is a very solid nine out of 10, but as a passionate fan of the series, it earns an additional bonus point thanks to the attention to detail and craft that’s gone into every pore of this game. »

IGN France 100/100

« Requiem is a pivotal work that manages to reconcile two long-standing, contrasting visions of the saga. Tension and Action. It takes the best of what Resident Evil has to offer and elevates it to a level of polish rarely seen. Though the alternating structure between Grace and Leon locks the pace and limits the kind of replay freedom found in some earlier entries. Yet, in the face of such mastery, this compromise feels almost negligible. »

« Resident Evil Requiem, to me, is one of the series’ best. As a culmination of every game that came before, I can confidently say that the story serves as both a fitting conclusion for many threads left open over the years and a benchmark for where we can expect to go from here. It combines the best parts of virtually every modern Resident Evil title, offering the iconic horror atmosphere that pioneered a genre, incredibly satisfying combat mechanics, and immersive puzzle design that even newcomers can enjoy. »

ScreenHub 100/100

« As a requiem for the franchise, this adventure is a layered, thoughtful sequel. It manages to neatly thread two vastly different gameplay tones together, with each of its elements well-designed to create a cohesive, balanced adventure that serves a variety of needs ... With a steady back-and-forth between moments of sheer terror and outright glee, Requiem hauls you along a story that forces you to reckon with its core message: that even against the encroachment of nightmares, the world is worth fighting for. »

Game Rant 100/100

« Resident Evil Requiem's gripping story and intoxicating gameplay blend are wrapped up in a perfectly-polished experience with eye-popping graphics and a blood-pumping soundtrack. Resident Evil Requiem is a horror gaming masterpiece and one of the best games Capcom has ever made. It's the ultimate Resident Evil game and will be remembered as fondly as the franchise favorites in the years to come. »

Finger Guns 100/100

« A sum of its parts indeed, Resident Evil Requiem silences any doubts about the previous entries it's mutated from. A mix of tense survival horror and action setpieces, Requiem is a welcome addition, perhaps even surpassing those you already hold high. It's beautiful, it's disgusting, it's over-the-top... it's Resident Evil, that's for sure. »

« It ranks right up there with the best *Resident Evil* titles—like 2, 4, and the rest—a true gem. It’s a contender for Game of the Year, unless *GTA* comes out first. »

« Hilariously B-movie territory Resident Evil franchise continues to plug away at yet again another inane and nonsensical story featuring a female protagonist. I'm quite sure that I lost interest in the first 30 minute opening segment that had more red herrings than a particularly well-stocked man-made lake full of them. From the awkward context sensitive first-person dodging zombie policeman, to the ridiculous flashback that sets up some huge overly long mystery, I knew it wasn't for me. For quite some time the Resident Evil series has been kind of getting dumb. It started with Resident Evil 7, where they changed the perspective, put some poor schlub in the boonies with a very out-of-touch stereotypical "American" southern family who was either evil or residents themselves of an elaborate, complex puzzle house with all the usual trappings, blob monsters, and silly chase sequences. Not unlike Scooby-doo, there are only so many ways you can recreate the same formula, and I feel like Resident Evil 9 (was there even an 8?) is just more of that same thing that Capcom has been doubling down on since RE7. I don't personally get it, it doesn't appeal to me. I find a lot of these modern action survival video games to be kind of dull or at least poorly paced. The plots are getting so stupid that sometimes I wonder if old or unused Resident Evil movie scripts are being fed to an AI somewhere that continues to spit out sequel after sequel. I don't like Grace, I don't care about this story, I don't like seeing the same untouched game play, nor do I enjoy laughing so hard that I can't properly pay attention to what is happening on-screen. If you are a putz, you'll probably buy whatever crap Capcom keeps defecating out every year, but if you have a little bit of taste, you'll realize that Resident Evil peaked 20 years ago. All that remains is shambling, slow, and mutated monsters behind every decision at Capcom.. and the zombies who continue to buy from them. This title reeks of FOMO so hard, that I wondered why all the praise for it dried up a month after it's release. In the years since, I have very rarely seen many of the games discussed quite as much as the original Playstation series, Resident Evil 4, and Resident Evil 6. The modern offerings are for a different crowd, a potentially more affluent one who doesn't mind buying a game nobody will talk about 5 or even 10 years from now. What a shame. »
