Cubed3 80/100

« As an early adopter of Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid, it's a delight to see nWay listening to the initial issues and addressing them as thoroughly as they have. Rosters and stages have increased exponentially and by focusing firmly on the Shattered Grid storyline of the comics, have created a fanboys dream in terms of a story mode. Mostly all series are represented here and with game expansions and updates being added constantly, if your favourite isn't there, rest assured they are coming. Fans are also being consulted on next additions which is really appreciated. At its core, there has always been an in-depth well crafted fighting game on offer, but now with all the bells and whistles raising it to a real contender for the fighting game throne. This has got the power. »

Nintendo Force Magazine 75/100

« As a lifelong Ranger fan, I still feel that this is a pretty good package as far as budget titles go. [Issue #40 – July/August 2019, p. 19] »

Cultured Vultures 70/100

« A fun budget fighter that has its core mechanics in the right place but is currently missing a lot of content, Battle for the Grid is a good fighting game with the potential to become great. »

Nintendo Enthusiast 70/100

« Online matches felt surprisingly good with only the rare instances of stuttering or dropped matches. The Arcade mode seems like a bit of a missed opportunity, however, as it could have been a cool love letter to hardcore fans. There’s very little dialogue between characters, not even when winning a match, which is strange for a fighting game. Major battles are only made more difficult by fighting enemies with multiple health bars to whittle down. You don’t even get an ending. For a game about Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the lackluster presentation is extremely glaring. »

PLAY! Zine 70/100

« Truly superb gameplay gets held back by some serious lack of content. Only nine playable characters, a few stages and heartbreakingly basic gameplay modes, prevent this game from truly shining. But even so, Battle for the Grid is a fun fighting game that can only improve, by adding some more content to it. »

IGN 68/100

« Under all of Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid's poor graphics, anemic content, and bugs is the beating heart of a mechanically sound 2D fighter. »

GamingTrend 65/100

« Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid has some near-perfect online play and tag-team mechanics, but is held back by some disappointing story modes and an egregious lack of content. Dedicated Power Rangers fans and fighting game enthusiasts will find a lot to love, but for everyone else, wait until the free update for more characters and content in the future. »

Nintendo Life 60/100

« Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid isn't some cheap tie into a quarter-century-old franchise – at least not in sense of its core mechanics and gameplay. With a smooth 60fps in all formats on Switch, lots of modes to play through and support for ranked and casual bouts online, it's a decent fighter, even without the licence. However, an ugly yet suitably contemporary approach to content accessibility leaves this game feeling frustratingly spartan to anyone who doesn't invest in a rolling number of ongoing season passes. This seems to be the way all fighting games are going – just look at Dead or Alive 6's awful DLC setup – but it's not a welcome direction. »

« Too damn difficulty for no reason. Fighting game difficulty should range so it's accessible for ALL LEVELS OF PLAYERS. No one wants to play "GET MY ASS WHIPPED OVER AND OVER AGAIN" the game. It's not fun »

pedroxoliver 6/10

« A great game for the fans of Power Rangers, but not to engaging for heavy players of a fighting game »

DrDreggman 2/10

« Lousy and poor overpriced game... There is no fun here and waste of time to! »

« This is quite the surprise to me with how well this game truly is. I’ll be honest..I wasn’t expecting much so the bar wasn’t set high. Most games like this are just cash grabs with a popular franchise name behind it. Most power rangers games were pretty bad or just plain mediocre. I was going on a trip to Ukraine and I needed something to play while I was in the airport lounges **** back some beers to pass the time. I seen power rangers battle for the grid and thought..what a stupid name. Then I read that it was a fighting game and I watched a few videos and it looked actually pretty good. It reminded me of dragonball fighters Z and I absolutely loved that game. I took a chance and bought it. After it downloaded. It seemed pretty barebones game mode wise. I don’t even think it had a story mode yet. Whatever..most fighting games that have story’s are pretty lame and just filler. So I was ready to play and see how it **** god...turns out that it was incredibly awesome. Don’t get me wrong because I do love me street fighter and all those more in depth fighting games but let’s get things clear. Learning one character that takes a year to fully **** has time for that. I like to just jump in and kick butt then figure out its complexity later. This fighter is pick up and play. Anyone that hates games like street fighter because it takes 50 different button combinations to pull of a decent move set and practice till they are blue in the face. This game isn’t like those. I see that some people gave this a mediocre score and they’d be wrong but everyone is in titled to their own opinion. But all in all. This game great..give it a try »

« Ce qui aurait pu être une catastrophe se révèle finalement être une belle petite surprise. Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid est au final un sympathique jeu de combat en équipe 3vs3 sans prétentions. Soyons clair, la mise à jour de mai 2019 change la donne et pour moins de 20 euros le contenu du jeu est honnête. Mention spéciale au mode histoire, drôle et rempli de Fan Service. »

« Made with love of the franchise. Graphics are poor but worth the cheap $20 price, and any power rangers fan knows how to tolerate poor visuals. I love this game. It’s mechanics are so easy for me to pick up and play. Even easier than Dragon Ball Fighterz and in my opinion Battle for the Grid plays better and feels much closer to Marvel vs Capcom which is so much faster and snappier than DBFZ. The only negative I have is the lack of characters. I don’t mind the lack of story mode (even though it is coming in a future free update) and I don’t mind the lack of voice acting or stages to choose from, but a nine character roster in a 3v3 fighter is a big problem. However they will be adding at least 3 free characters and likely 3 more to get to the originally promised 15 character base roster. Then the game will be supported for years to come according to the developer, so I’m at least glad to get in on the ground floor and support a game that I love. Must play for fighting game fans. »

« For it's price, it's pretty fair. 20 dollars for a fighting game. However, the content is lacking to justify any higher than 20 dollars. Even twenty dollars seems to be pushing it. I only recommend you get the 50 dollar collector's edition if you absolutely love Power Rangers, you love the idea of a Power Rangers fighting game, and you want to not only have all the content at your finger tips, but also to support the company and have them make more content in the future. »
