Outrun Online Arcade, un jeu de course, est sorti le 15 avril 2009 sur les consoles PlayStation 3 et Xbox 360. D'après sa présentation, le titre propose de parcourir divers lieux et paysages idylliques afin d'atteindre un but, le joueur n'ayant à sa disposition qu'une Ferrari impeccable, une petite amie exigeante, de longues routes et des mécaniques de dérapage folles. Le temps de jeu pour une complétion exhaustive est estimé à onze heures.
Le jeu affiche une note agrégée de 70,00. Concernant l'accueil critique, l'Official Xbox Magazine UK a salué qu'il s'agit toujours de l'un des meilleurs jeux de course de Sega. Par ailleurs, GamePro a estimé que ce classique de l'arcade a été porté avec succès sur Xbox 360, mettant en avant un prix raisonnable, un multijoueur en ligne fluide et une forte rejouabilité. Du côté des joueurs, un avis publié sur Metacritic a qualifié ce titre de course absolument brillant, louant des graphismes nets et un gameplay immédiat.

« An absolutely brilliant racer that has lovely sharp graphics, great pick-up-and-play gameplay, and that all important 'just one more go' factor. It's so incredibly playable, and although it's missing much of the 'coast to coast' retail release for xbox /ps2 /pc, it's online play, and HD graphics make up for it! Awesome.. my advice? get this right away and also get the coast to coast version for PC (or xbox or ps2) as well! »
