Impulsegamer 90/100

« An amazing leap from NHL 23, NHL 24 boldly advances the series via new physics, presentation and overall gameplay. A must-buy for any next-gen ice-hockey aficionado. »

Digital Chumps 83/100

« NHL 24 is definitely a step back in the right direction. The advances in on-ice play make it worth your time no matter what happens. HUT and CHEL continue to evolve for the better and are a good way to grow online play. While there are still some negative spots for the game, this is still worth the price of a ticket to play in the NHL and makes me feel excited for the future. »

VideoGamer 80/100

« Hard-hitting, fact-paced, and action-packed. NHL 24 has hit the sweet spot between challenging and enjoyable. »

GamingBolt 80/100

« Gameplay updates enhance the on-ice action, and despite some of NHL 24’s touted new features not being new at all, the game’s atmosphere is still electric. »

GAMES.CH 77/100

« In NHL 24, EA Sports focuses on improving the gameplay experience where it matters: On the ice. The addition of the exhaust-engine, the pressure system and the new controls work in favour of the overall gameplay. Unfortunately, NHL 24 lacks improvements in nearly every game-mode, which makes it hard to give the game a recommendation. »

CGMagazine 75/100

« EA Sports NHL 24 scratches the itch for a solid hockey title. There are significant improvements over last year’s title, but replayability, as always is up in the air for sports titles. »

Gaming Age 75/100

« NHL 24 remains a pretty solid game if all you’re after is an in-depth hockey game that can be enjoyed no matter your skill level. It may not be worth upgrading if you have last year’s game, but if you’ve taken a couple of years off from the franchise, now might be a good time to jump back in. »

The Games Machine 74/100

« With no major changes in the game modes, NHL 24 shows some interesting signs of life thanks to some new gameplay features. With convincing graphics and sounds, which manages to immerse the player in the atmosphere of an ice rink, the matches are quite enjoyable, with a good rhythm and a truly well-thought-out renewed control system. There are still some issues, but those who live on bread and hockey will find a way to have fun. »

« Absolutně garbage. Math just doesnt work. I have penaltys for my teamatetes on 30 ans 60 on ai. In 3 games I have 2 poweplays but over 14 penalty minutes caused by my ai teammates. Like probabality isnt a thing. My players lose punk on touch White you have to kill to oponent player to get the puck. I can have the Best goalie in the game and he will start laying Down after all shots even with 100% energy and theai goalie stoupání everything even if he is lying on the grand. They just **** the machanics. »

« Career mode is pointless. They just aren't even trying for single players who don't play online. »

« PEOPLE WHOBPLAY WITH "TOTAL CONTROL" SHOULD ONLYBE PLAYING WITH PLAYER WHO ALSO USE "TOTAL CONTROL" ITS **** THAT SKILL STICK IS MORE OF A DISSADVANTAGE .... TOTAL CONTROL PLAYERS HAVE ZERO SKILL AND SHOULD BE KEPT ON THEIR OWN SERVER ..... DOESNT MAKE SENSE THAT ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS PUSH A BITTON, BUT SKILL STICK PLAYERS NEED TO WORK FOR IT ..... THE WORST PART OF THE GAME .... SECONDLY, THE GAME FEEL IS NOT CONSISTENT AT **** GAME IM FAST AS HELL AND WHEELING AROUND CYCLUNG THE PUCK VERY WELL, THEN THE NEXT GAME I HAVE NO SPEED AND GET WALKED ALL OVER ..... PEOPLE WHO HAVE PLAYED THE GAME SINCE RELEASE SHOULD ALWAYS BE BETTER THAN A TEAM THATS FULL OF 82 OVR PLAYERS ..... NO WAY IN HELL SHOULD AN 89 Mcdavid be faster and more skilled than a 99 Mcdavid.... it's bull **** that because you want new players to have a chance to be as good as year long players .. »

« This game has been in decline since nhl13. But NHL24 is sooooo bad I cant even beleive they released that garbage. The scripting in this game makes it feel like you are watching a game and not playing it for a second. The same scenarios keep repeating over and over and over again. There simply is no playing it anymore, its more like you are enduring through the game now. You watch the puck slidding through you and watch players sliding through you and you cant reach an AI player at all. They pass the puck right through your stick. 9 goals out of 10 comes out of nowhere as you keep taking the opposing goalie out of position only for him to spawn back in place to make stops. Its trully unenjoyable. The game scripting is totally omnipresent from faceoff to bodychecking to scoring. You dont play the game, it plays you. »

« Got the game for free via PS Plus and tried it with very low expectation and god am I glad not to have dish out single penny for that game. Even with expectation that low, EA went even lower. GOOD: - New goalie movement are ok, but they tend to go sprawling on the ice way too often (more often than any goalie in the NHL). - Visuals are OK, still the same as like the 4 previous games. - Most of the gameplay is OK (skating, shooting, deking). BAD: - Clearly an unoptimized game. How in hell do you make a laggy menu on a freaking PS5 when old NHL games from the PS2 era ran smoother than this piece of crap. - Removed features (again!) like the real-time last minute of play of the 3rd period in game. Why ? No idea. They didn't even leave an option On/Off like previous game for it. Also, what happened to the button for protecting the puck ? It does a reverse hit now. Cool for the reverse hit, but using one hand to protect the puck was great too and it disappeared. - Destroyed the hitting mechanics. Despite the numerous problems of previous games, something that seems to be good was hitting. Now, using the skill stick controller settings for hits seemed to have been nerfed. Hitting is more like gently pushing a player away from the puck. - Be a Pro is still a total joke, especially the interactions between your pro and others (coach and players). You're dominating the league, the coach is like "I expect better from you!". Dude, I have like 30 goals in 13 games and win the game by myself. Same if you are a goalie. Lose a game 2-1 with 37 saves, coach is like: You ****, you go back to the AHL. - Opposing goalie playing like god and yours playing like total crap despite being a 95 OVR and the other a 78. Playing an AHL goalie or an Elite one doesn't feel different at all. They all have the same speed, style and weaknesses. - Saving works from time to time. Lost 2 hours of progress because I thought that when I selected "Save game" and received the message that the game was saved that I was safe. Nope. The game didn't save at all and I lost 1-2 hours of progression. So now, I created 3 manual saves for the same franchise to be safe. - Still no decent intro for games like they used to do on the PS2/PS3 and even the first PS4 games. It's an EA game with a monopoly... so yeah, it's gonna ****. »

« Wow, I haven't played since NHL 2016 and can't believe this game looks worse 8 years later. It plays clunky, UI is garbage, doesn't even feel half-baked lol. The only thing I am stoked about with this game is that I didn't pay for it. I would have felt cheated out of cash like most EA games these days, this isn't worth it for free. »

« Seriously what the **** is this game. EA should be ashamed of scamming hockey fans with this garbage. Most frustrating game ive ever played »

« I’ve played over 900 games online between HUT-online vs-CHEL and I must say this game is obviously fun and challenging. Disclaimer-!!! You must know how to play the game. I cannot stress that enough. First you have to move your player at a speed that is smooth, not necessarily fast. You have to pass with r1 to saucer pass and not just full trigger r2 with rocket passes. You have to play your position, not just skate all over the place and expect to get the puck or keep it out of the net. When you play the game within the confines that the code is written you will find yourself in awe of the novelty that each matchup will provide. Have fun boys it’s a video game! Jesus Saves! God bless! »
