God is a Geek 90/100

« NHL 23 is a vast improvement from last year's entry, featuring better control on the ice, the inclusion of women in HUT, and so much more. »

We Got This Covered 90/100

« NHL 23 completely revamps crowd reactions and adds women IIHF players and new desperation moves, and it all works splendidly to create not only the best hockey game in a generation -- but one of the best sports games ever. »

GAMES.CH 85/100

« NHL 23 is another solid outing of EA Sports Hockey-Series. The gameplay sees minor improvements, that actually makes NHL 23 surpass ist predecessor. But overall the lack of real innovation is missing and therefore experienced players may give this one a pass. »

Attack of the Fanboy 80/100

« If you’re looking for something that makes you feel closer to the ice than ever before, NHL 23 is going to be your favorite game that you play this year. The electricity that oozes from this title is something that will bring me back to playing it over and over again, even if there are a few nagging problems that need to be addressed very shortly. »

IGN 80/100

« It’s overdue, but NHL 23 finally looks and feels like it belongs on these beefier consoles. The visual tech upgrade adds stellar reality to the on-ice play, which also benefits from players who are willing to dive for the puck to make a desperate goal or save. It gains new energy from crowds reacting to the action like real crowds would, bringing a definitive audio design that’s best-in-class for stadium effects. Franchise mode customization greatly expands, and seeing women in the fold for the first time feels right – and also overdue. At the same time there are several modes that are outright ignored, including the Be a Pro single-player campaign, and its microtransaction-driven Ultimate Team mode comes with the usual caveats about its predatory, profit-driven nature. »

Games.cz 80/100

« The NHL series really needs some competition. Once again, we get improvements in just one game mode while the others gather dust. This year, however, the amount of joy that has been added feels greater than usual. »

LEVEL (Czech Republic) 80/100

« It's getting harder and harder to find revolutionary elements without expanding the NHL itself. But despite these challenges, this year's edition of virtual hockey has something going for it and offers surprisingly great gameplay. [Issue#323] »

PSX Brasil 75/100

« NHL 23 is a good if not revolutionary entry into an already commendable simulation sports game. It might not bring anything new to the ice, but it builds on the already pretty precise gameplay and its additions to the current modes make it a very solid entry to the series. »

« Don't deserves a score, it say NHL 23, but I can't see a differenceat all except the menus and the "NHL 23" everywhere in the game. The AI is the same since NHL 2000 even, and of course NHL 22 (also the same AI since 2000). Good I got Gamepass Ultimate which includes EA Play. I would never spend a single krona on EA ever again. It's a reason EA got the garbage awar, and NHL 23 is another proof of that award. Well deserved EA! »

« The worst NHL game so far. It look same as 5 previous editions. Game has many glitches and bugs that completely destroy a game feeling and take away any pleasure of playing this game. Don't waste your money and time on that trashy game. »

« EA might be the laziest company on earth. My be a pro is number 19 and plays for the New jersey Devils. We were playing against the rangers and we were away. i noticed something looking at the crowd. The fan was wearing a rangers jersey with my pros last name and number on it... There's no player with that last name or number on the rangers. EA SPORTS back at it again with the CTRL+C CTRL+V formula. Oh and the game plays like absolute garbage. Haven't played since nhl 15 and it seems they still haven't improved their game. SHAME ON EA. »

« I enjoyed this game 15 years ago. Terrible AI, terrible mechanics, and almost zero content make this game hard to play. All cosmetics are the exact same as they were in 2008. The graphics are quite well done, the game is beautiful. »

« This disgusting tragedy of EA ad coquettes is an absolute farce and the only game in the world that can piss you off online in such a way that it shortens your life by 10 years. Not only that the **** **** who take care of their official forum discriminate against any comment against their game, they can't help with anything, but they ban you for absolutely no reason. He plays? The game is absolute garbage. There was a time when I bought the ultimate edition every year and played hut until last year when ice tilt reached the peak of such degeneration and the random win generator fell to a better connection. Connection is 80% to win, then ice tilt and 1% skill. Sometimes your players play like gods, other times they ignore the laws of physics, the puck and the opponents. The only thing they are interested in is skating in a graceful movement. Many times you go to the goalie with two players and he send pass on defense, players often take the puck away with a miracle from behind the back and an invisible force like the gedai in star wars. All you have to do is move to Finland and you have a 90% chance of winning even if you are ****. The same glitches every year plus always some new ones and never any solved ones. The only ones who like this game are the losers in life who play the first division without any creativity, because they just spin like mentals in the corner of the rink and can only do two or three glitches in the whole match. I regret buying that game for £27, I could have had a good steak and a beer and not be convinced of what a twisted tragic piece of **** EA is. Buttons for lift oponent stick do not use, is 90% slash, wtf? And goalie passing? WTF? Why EA do from goalie ****? They can send puck to there teammates in real life. Is not so hard move by hand on ice to to your team play. Yes, and change player without puck is dislogical and terrible. And cover of free person that can score do not work. »
