Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition
Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition

« Even two years after its original release, Mortal Kombat remains one of the best fighting games ever made. »
« While it was nice to dig back in for a while, I have moved on to other titles now, so anyone looking for a double dip will likely not get as much mileage out of this version. For the few that have yet to play it though, you are in for a treat. The PC version is by far the best looking iteration of the game, and the amount of content packed in here will keep players occupied for months. That is of course if the online manages to get a foothold. »
« The Komplete Edition shines on PC other than Story mode cutscene quality and, more importantly, some annoying online lag issues. Neither is a deal-breaker for me though, and at $30, I have no problem recommending it for purchase. »
« With all that content, an in-depth Story mode, and a wide range of modes to play through, Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition is one of the most complete fighting games around. »
« Over two years after it hit the home consoles, Mortal Kombat is finally making its way to the PC. This port may be called the "Komplete Edition," but it lacks much of the content found in last year's PS Vita release. Even in its inkomplete state, Mortal Kombat remains one of the best fighting games of this generation! »
« For $29.99, Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition is great value for the high-calibre fighting game that Netherrealm Studios (and High Voltage Software) has put together. Highly rekommended! »
« The online experience could be better, especially with such a small community, but the game is solid enough in other areas that it is easily one of the better fighting games for the platform and worth checking out. »
« High Voltage Software produced a solid PC port, with a 60 fps frame rate, better visuals and excellent keyboard support. I wish they did not unlock all the characters, outfits and fatalities right off the bat, though. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« Mortal Kombat (2011) features an excellent story mode that kept me engaged throughout the entire game. One of its biggest strengths is the roster, which includes nearly all of the franchise's iconic characters. My personal favorites were the ninja fighters, who were as fun and memorable as ever, X-Ray attacks were a great addition and added extra excitement to the fights. The combat system was solid, although it felt a bit slower than I personally prefer, as I usually enjoy faster-paced fighting games. Despite that, Mortal Kombat (2011) is a strong entry in the series and a great celebration of the franchise's classic era. »
« Still packs a punch Mortal Kombat 2011 is like a scarred, retired price fighter: Ugly as sin, barely coherent at times, but still able to knock you to the floor. Its looks have aged like vinegar: The cutscenes, at least on the PC port, are blurry, and full of compression artifacts, the story fits on a dirty pub napkin even though it contains the goings-on of the first three games, and it has the quality of such a napkin, as well. There are a few heartbreaking moments, but they are considerably weakened by the juvenile amounts of gore that are a franchise staple, and the rest is pure schlock spread way too thin. The voice performances tear into the scenery with wanton abandon. The final boss is such an immense cliff in the difficulty curve that he made me rage-quit the story mode, look up the ending on YouTube and never go back. And yet: Every session ended with me breathing heavily from the adrenaline. The visceral connection between my actions and the brutal punches and kicks on screen deliver an atavistic enjoyment that’s impossible to deny: Even now, 15 years after release, Mortal Kombat knows how to have fun in a brawl. Now if only it would keep its gore fetish to itself. TLDR: The looks show their considerable age, the gameplay seems timeless. Make of that what you will. P.S.: Declaration of bias: I treat all all fighting games as single player games, going through the story and then unlocking each character ending in easy or normal difficulty mode. Yes, I am a button-mashing scrub, so don’t come here for opinions about fighting mechanics or multiplayer imbalances. »
