Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

« The environments are amazing, when on the deck of the tank the rain effects are extremely lifelike, along with rain drops hitting the ship and characters. »
« The best part of the whole thing is, you become so comfortable with the controls that the movements feel like a natural extension of your body. You’ll find your self ducking your head every time a bullet whizzes by you during a gunfight. »
« MGS2 delivers everything it was teased, touted, hyped, and, in some circles, feared to be. It's easily one of the most memorable gaming experiences you're likely to have. »
« Anyone who comes away from this game with anything more than a few nitpicky complaints should just give up videogaming, period. Everything that this game does goes above and beyond the capability of the current competition and will easily set a bar for quality for years to come. »
« Nearly everything in the game is interactive the way it would be in the real world whether it’s melting ice cubes to leaking flour bags. The detail is staggering. »
« You’ll be more impressed that you can make Snake stare lecherously at a centerfold poster one minute, only to have him pop out and choke someone to death the next. »
« A perfect balance between videogames and cinema. »
« Looks beautiful, plays precisely, and has a complex, detailed plot that will tax your brain and maybe even have you questioning the greater truths of life. If that's not a game that qualifies for a perfect score, then no game possibly can. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« Great piece of fiction, flawed but unique and above else, truly ahead of its time. Not just with technology and graphics but also with ideas. »
« To put it plainly, the storyline of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty reaches the point where it becomes gobbledygook, yet is at the same time gripping, especially during the unforgettable final march of its denouement. It holds a strange, lasting beauty even in its soapy and B-movie moments. We cannot say that another game exists that is more telling about the world that would spawn in the 21st century, foreseeing its proliferation of abject lies forcibly warped into truths, its proliferation of byzantine oligarchical tyranny, its proliferation of inconsequential digital content, its proliferation of artificial products supplanting human beings in global eminence, and far more visions of its present dystopia. Sons of Liberty is in essence the dissertation for the reputation of brilliance that Kojima has built as an artist on the video gaming stage. With rare importance and weight, it is a reminder that games can stand for so much more than just playthings and resonate deeply when handled with this level of earnestness. »
« Aged extremely well gameplay wise, I never found my self frustrated at the dated controls, provides a nice challenge and an enjoyable "gameplay loop". The story and core themes aged even better, an amazing continuation and additions to the first games were adequate. Raiden was the perfect MC for this story, I wouldnt have it any other way, contrary to the beliefs of 2001 MGS fans. »
« [SPOILER ALERT: This review contains spoilers.] »
« Quite possibly the most prolific video game ever released. Kojima's greatest, yet underrated moment. A visionary's gift for all to experience. It's not only a video game, but a commentary on the past, the future, and most terrifyingly, the present. »
« the second best of the original trilogy just SLIGHTLY behind snake eater imo. The story took a bit to get going but it just went once it started going 9.4/10 »
