« This Isn`t a horror game, Burst out laughing at many randomized scenes, the game lacked any sorts of stakes, The movement was choppy, I softlocked at 3 parts of the game the enemy is boring, the lamp mechanic is unpredictable the light bugs killed any sort of immersion, The voice acting sounded like 3 random dudes reading the paper for the first time and all this from the very main chapter, I cant even imagine the rest. « è un 7 che però in realtà è un 7.5 . Il fatto che siano incluse tutte le storie mai prodotte sotto il nome "Layers of Fear" e che siano tutte interessanti e coinvolgenti, lo rende già nettamente superiore alla maggior parte degli horror in prima persona presenti sul mercato. In più è molto curata l'ambientazione, già quando era fatto con Unity il livello di dettaglio era incredibile, ora l'unreal engine permette al gioco di sfoggiare ancora di più la cura impiegata. Purtroppo a penalizzarlo così tanto sono un paio di cose che per mio gusto personale spezzano molto il mood dell'esperienza: prima su tutte il fatto che i dlc siano palesemente dei dlc, speravo che in questa versione venissero integrati meglio, o almeno in modo da non rendere la storia della scrittrice nel faro una sorta di menu interattivo da cui selezionarli. E poi le fasi con i "nemici" sono un po' scarne di gameplay, perlopiù sono inseguimenti per corridoi e anfratti che sì mettono ansia ma l'unico modo di affrontarli è correre e girarsi ogni tanto per puntare la torcia e fondamentalmente interrompere momentaneamente la loro avanzata in una sorta di "green light, red light". Diciamo che qualche meccanica aggiuntiva per nascondersi o qualche inseguimento con un nemico che corresse potevano arricchire l'esperienza, anche perché stiamo pur sempre impersonando gente turbata e terrorizzata dai propri mostri e dai propri scheletri nell'armadio. Al netto di tutto ciò, lo consiglio comunque caldamente per la storia e il livello di coinvolgimento che offre, soprattutto se giocato con le cuffie perché anche il sound design è strepitoso. »

« The visuals were amazing, they tied the stories together nicely, and the atmosphere was very well done. I guess I lost momentum about halfway through the second game. One thing to remember, this is two games, with DLC, AND extra content to tie it all together. it's a sweet package and a great remake of two, now classic, psychological horror games. But it can burn you out when running down hallways, solving puzzles, and dying from mistakes every so often become the norm. »

« AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Ok, so first let me get the only good thing out of the way- THE GRAPHICS. Other than that, the game is a mess It is just a walking simulator. You are never in any sort of real trouble. If it is a psychological horror, at least the game should be scary, which it is not. You just walk across hallways, from one 'jump scare' to another which in my opinion are not scary at all. The game is so predictable that it becomes tedious. There is no real challenge. Add to that, a disjointed story and the game becomes a chore to play. I took half a month to complete this 15 hr game because I could not tolerate playing it for more than 30 min- 1 hr everyday. You just walk through corridors without any purpose, open doors, examine paintings and very rarely, get chased by a mysterious entity and harming you is its last priority. I just wanted to get this game over with by the end. And YA, finally the thing that had me at the brisk of breaking my controller, the game deleted my progress when I was so close to earning the only gold trophy for this game. I just minimized the game and when I returned, I was again at the lighthouse in writer's story in first chapter. I cannot emphasize enough that how broken this game is. DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME. If you are a fan of horror games, look elsewhere. The game misses the mark by such a margin that the mark isn't even in sight. »
