Disponible sur PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U et Wii, le titre repose sur le moteur UbiArt Framework et propose des titres comme "Blame" de Calvin Harris ft. John Newman, "Uptown Funk" de Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars ou "Let's Groove" d'Equinox Stars. Aucun périphérique supplémentaire n'est requis grâce à l'application gratuite Just Dance Controller qui transforme un smartphone en manette, et le jeu introduit Just Dance Unlimited, un service par abonnement donnant accès à des titres d'opus précédents sur Wii U, PS4 et Xbox One. La presse a salué le retour en forme du studio après un opus 2015 décevant, JeuxActu évoquant l'un des meilleurs jeux de la série, tandis que Push Square a qualifié l'expérience de très amusante en famille et entre amis. Certains joueurs ont apprécié une bande-son supérieure à celle de 2015 et le support par téléphone, mais d'autres ont regretté la tournure payante du modèle économique d'Ubisoft. L'ensemble affiche une note moyenne agrégée de 72,88.

« Honestly, I liked this game. First of all, soundtrack is WAY better than 2015. I love how they added phone support so we don't have to buy a camera or stupid PS Move controllers (although if you have a large phone it's not really ideal). Me personally, I liked Just Dance Unlimited, but I can understand that Ubisoft got greedy with it. Ubisoft, after this game being out for so long, still haven't fixed move detection. Other than that, good game. »
« Just dance 2 and 4 were extremely fun but now Ubisoft is turning into a pay to enter game and you have to pay 30 to 40 dollars already. Extreme infuriating that Ubisoft is poisoning their just dance franchise. »

« Why are they selling me a stream service when i bought a game. Ubisoft is pissing me off! They are trying to be Netflix or Shomi or whatever streaming service you actually like. At first what I thought was a "thank you fans for your continuous support" was a down right wallet grab. I got this for my nine year, who doesn't understand what line she can use and which lines are for "streaming" ARE YOU **** KIDDING ME???? From this point on I will buy all UBISOFT games as Used games. **** THEM!!! »
« A good line-up of songs but serious issues. I can't believe they have not improved the camera support. It really is no better than JD2014, with my kids frequently giving up from starting a game as it did not pick them up. When it does start the scoring is a waste of time, regularly giving perfect when your just standing there, and just created arguments when it seemed to flip them over or suddenly dropped them. The frustrating part is you can see them perfectly in the silhouette, so the camera is picking them up. Games like playroom work perfectly with the camera, so Just Dance is just lazy development, maybe its Ubisoft as they seem to be constantly throwing out poorly developed games these days. It's a shame, if the game worked it would be a hit with my kids, but we took it back as its clearly does not work as advertised. Please soft it out Ubisoft, my kids would love this game if you can fix it. »

For the first time, my family and I stay at home a saturday night to have fun playing videogames. I bought a PS Camera exclusively for Just Dance 2016. We ordered pizza, get the beer and soda cold, put the furnitures away and play the first song… about 3 hours after we’ve played a lot of songs, including Just Dance Unlimited service — which I needed to buy separately, even I've purchased the Gold Edition. In our opinion the game can be very fun. BUT it has a lot of little issues that makes it an average product. My general impressions is that the game game is not finished. And here are the reasons: 1) There is no “setup option”. I needed to go to Playroom in order to set the camera properly. Not even a way to see what is capturing (actually some songs show you with a frame, but that is not enough). 2) The game only recognizes 1 id. That means only one psn id will got trophies. Besides, while you can create others players, I wasn’t able to select them to play. We needed to get used to “Funky”, “Jazzy” and “Crazy” characters. 3) I can’t figure it out why Ubisoft let new players to be added in the midst of the song. Why? Why? 4) The capture of the moves are so inaccurate! I confess I got shocked how inaccurate it is. You may be on the sofa, drinking your beer and still the game grants you “Ok”, “Good” moves… Conclusion: The game as software is mediocre, but it can offer a fun in a saturday night with friends and family. »
