Description Steam (Français)

"Audioshield is the most purely joyful time I’ve had with a facebox on" (Alec Meer, Rock Paper Shotgun)

"Audioshield: Feels like music-melee Missile Command-and we love it" (Ars Technica)

"AudioShield -- a rhythm game -- is HTC Vive's killer app" (Jeff Grubb, VentureBeat)

Experience your entire music collection in VR. Audioshield puts you at the point of impact for every hit in your music. Beats glide in slowly for mellow parts of songs, then ramp up for intense parts of songs with cross-body, double-shield, and high-altitude hits.

Audioshield uses an advanced version of Audiosurf 2's music analysis system to sync with any song from your collection.

Every song has its own online leaderboard. Audioshield also supports local leaderboards to easily compete with friends during look-at-my-awesome-new-VR-system parties.

"Let's punch the hell out of music in virtual reality with Audioshield" (Polygon)

"Audioshield found some neuroreceptor in the deepest cavern of my brain—one that can only be stimulated by an incredible combination of sight, sound, and motion—and flooded it with a sensation that has left me reeling for days." (Ars Technica)

"Fighting Music in VR. This is the coolest sh** ever." (Jericho)

"VR Missile Command inside a neon rave, set to your own music." (PC Gamer)

"The physicality of standing in place to fend off incoming orbs feels powerful" (IGN)

"...your music library comes to life as a fully immersive gaming experience" (UploadVR)

EDIT: Thanks for the reports! Sparks now fly from hard punches as they should. Mixed reality is fixed now too.

Avis des critiques et joueurs

Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)

Destructoid 95/100

« If you're a fan of games like AudioSurf and own a Vive, you owe it to yourself to pick up Audioshield. It's an incredibly polished VR imagining of the generate-music-into-levels concept, and it was only let down by the physical realities of how gross VR gets after energetic use by multiple, sweaty people. [Tested with Vive] »

Hooked Gamers 90/100

« In the end, the best thing about Audioshield is the ability to add any song from your personal music library to interact with in an all-encompassing environment, making every other rhythm game obsolete. »

PC PowerPlay 90/100

« Beating the shit out of incoming musical notes has never been this much fun. [Issue#252, p.70] »

Game Informer 80/100

« While many of Vive’s launch applications are demos or betas, Audioshield is a solid and complete game, and its ability to read and create playable tracks from any piece of music provides effectively endless replay value. This is an early testament to the power of VR to create novel experiences in established genres, and music-game faithful should seek an opportunity to at least try out this new take on interactive music play. [Tested with Vive] »

Metro GameCentral 60/100

« Later revisions may improve the bugs and lack of variety, but for now this is just another VR tech demo that’s all promise and too little polish. [HTC Vive tested] »

suneater 4/10

« As of June the main draw of Audioshield (being able to play songs from YouTube) has been disabled with no word from the dev on a fix for it. This is also affecting the other games by this developer so it's pretty astonishing that nothing is being done about it for over three months now. While its not "literally unplayable" (you can still play local files), there is no support for other streaming services like Spotify or Google Music. Sure I have a gigantic music collection but I've bought almost no new music since subscribing to Spotify two years ago. What about the actual game play? It's nothing amazing: you deflect orbs flying at you with shields that have gigantic hitboxes. The beat matching feels very similar to Audiosurf (also by the same dev), meaning it's all over the place. One song will match perfectly yet another track within the same genre at the same recording & compression quality will "miss" half the song. Some songs will track to the vocals while others will miss the bass line. Pefecting a song isn't as rewarding as previous releases by this dev because of the sloppy beat matching and overly forgiving controls. I did enjoy this game for a few months while YouTube streaming still worked but I cannot recommend it in its current state. »

« I LOVE this game. I have put over 16 hours in to it between myself and several friends. The fact that you can use YOUR music and not just a basic list they have is awesome. I can play pop, techno, pirate core metal, even marching band music(Band nerd here!) and it all works. This is THEE VR game if you even so much have the sense of hearing. »

Talismandan 10/10

« I wasn't sure what to expect of this game at first and I hesitated for almost two weeks to purchase it. I finally did purchase it on Steam and OMG what a great decision! This game puts you in the action if your music! Sounds simple, maybe tedious and boring but its so much the opposite! The orbs come flying at you to the beat of whatever music you have in your library on your computer, or you may chose music through Soundcloud. When I first played the game, I spent over two hours on many songs and didn't even realize it got dark outside and 2 hours flew by like it was just 30 minutes. Very fun and engrossing and this is a must have for HTC Vive owners! »
