Sorti le 21 octobre 2003 sur PC, Jetfighter V: Homeland Protector est un simulateur de vol de combat développé par le studio polonais InterActive Vision et édité par Take-Two Interactive. Le titre s'inscrit dans la lignée de la série en proposant une expérience de simulation accessible sur la plateforme Microsoft Windows.
Du côté de l'accueil critique, la presse a notamment souligné les qualités pédagogiques du jeu pour les néophytes. Gamer's Hell le décrivait comme une « bonne introduction solide » pour les joueurs sans expérience du genre, permettant de se sentir moins intimidé. IGN abondait dans ce sens, jugeant le titre adapté aux débutants souhaitant démarrer à un niveau plus élevé ou aux adeptes de l'arcade voulant s'essayer à une simulation moins indulgente. Du côté des joueurs, un avis relayé par Metacritic notait une courbe d'apprentissage initiale ardue et potentiellement ennuyeuse, mais assurait que le jeu devenait « parfait » pour qui prend le temps d'en assimiler les bases.

« This game might be tough for the first time and boring too, but once you settle with it and get to know the basics its actually a Perfect game for people who like jet simulations. The missions, jets(F-16,F/A22 and F35), missiles everthing is awesome. Must play. »
