Halo: The Master Chief Collection, développé par 343 Industries et édité par Xbox Game Studios, est sorti le 11 novembre 2014. Ce jeu de tir réunit sur PC et consoles Xbox One et Xbox Series X|S six titres de la saga, à savoir Halo: Reach, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST et Halo 4, pour un total de 67 missions de campagne. La collection propose des améliorations visuelles allant jusqu'à la résolution 4K UHD et un fonctionnement à 60 images par seconde, avec des commandes personnalisables à la souris et au clavier, un affichage ultra large et un champ de vision réglable sur PC. Le multijoueur comprend plus de 120 cartes et un éditeur Forge, absent toutefois de Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary et de Halo 3: ODST. Halo 2: Anniversary intègre un mode classique permettant de basculer entre graphismes remastérisés et originaux, de nouvelles scènes créées par Blur Studios, des terminaux cachés et des crânes modifiant le déroulement de la campagne. Disponible au prix de 39,99 euros, le titre obtient un score OpenCritic de 86 et une note agrégée de 85,91. La presse a salué une expérience de tir à la première personne de référence et une lettre d'amour aux fans, tandis que certains joueurs expriment leur attachement à la licence et qualifient la collection d'indispensable ou de sous-estimée.

« Best game of all time for me! All of the Halo games till 4 including multiplayer. Not only that the graphics is quite fancy aswell. « Half review of Game Pass, as it is the Microsoft game service. It installs the entire collection no matter what you check. It corrupts and makes you re-download it if you try to fix or mod anything. And the game(s) are still broken, with missing effects that affect the story and characters, so it *requires* at least minimal modding, STILL, to even get close to the original presentation. I've had to download 120GB TWICE even if only trying to play a single 25GB game. The trophies are also broken on *their own platform*. »
