Halo: Combat Evolved
Halo: Combat Evolved

« Halo is quite simply the closest thing we have ever experienced to a living, breathing alternate universe. [Jan 2002, p.72] »
« The definitive reason to own an Xbox. [Feb 2003, p.95] »
« When you finally set down the controller the first time, and eventually hunger or exhaustion do force all of us to take a break, Halo has pulled you completely into its world and started one of the best sci-fi gaming adventures of all time. »
« Besides the amazing cooperative campaign, playing with sixteen players via system link is the absolute most fun I have ever had with any multiplayer video game. You will be yelling, cursing and causing much ruckus well into the night during these frantic LAN parties. »
« I couldn't possibly say enough in this review to give you an idea of how unbelievable this game is, you will have to experience it for yourself...and try and do it with a 5.1 stereo system...One of the best videogames ever created. »
« This game has me totally mesmerized…[It] engages your intellect on a whole different level. [Jan 2002, p.224] »
« A game that will become the new benchmark for first person shooters. Quite frankly, it's one of the better ones that I have seen in a long time, at least since Half Life. »
« The gameplay on Halo is utterly brilliant. It takes about 5-10 minutes to get used to the controls...and you may even wonder why it is controlled that way...but, after you get used to it, you will not want it to be any other way! »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« So excited for Campaign Evolved. Still one of my all time favorites. Master Chief forever »
« I still can’t get over how incredible Halo: Combat Evolved is, even after all these years. It’s a flat-out masterpiece that completely changed the game for first-person shooters. Before Halo, playing an FPS on a console usually felt clunky and awkward, but Bungie absolutely nailed it. They basically invented the modern shooter blueprint by giving us the two-weapon limit, the recharging shield, and controls that actually felt natural on a controller. Dropping onto that ring for the first time and seeing those massive, wide-open landscapes gave you this insane sense of scale and tactical freedom that no other game had at the time. The enemy AI is brilliantly smart, the vehicle combat is a blast, and that legendary soundtrack still gives me goosebumps every single time. It’s the ultimate sci-fi epic, and the core gameplay loop is still just as satisfying today as it was back then. An absolute 10/10. »
« My brother played this game only so much, watching him play never gets old, and playing myself is an awesome experience that somehow feels futuristic 25 years later. I mean, Halo 2 coulda’ came out yesterday with those graphics. »
« First few chapters are 10/10 amazing, the the last few are absolute garbage, especially 8 & 10, they are both so bad its almost a joke, the final race is fun, but Lv. 8 is so boring that it puts me to sleep. The midgame twist was fun, and the gameplay is the best in the series, but just like Halo 2, the ending section is so poorly done it brings it down from a 10 to a 9. »
« in my opinion halo ce is the second worst bungie halo game the only worst one is odst which is unmemorable ( its still better then the **** 343 puts out though), the campaign has ton of memorable missions the story is a masterpiece, this is one of the few games that in my opinion does not deserve a remaster for it is already perfect, the magnum is still the most fun weapon to use in any game in my opinion. »
« This game deserves a higher aggregate score than 8.6. this is the reason why FPS games now have story modes »
« This was a masterpiece. Introduced story mode to a whole genre basically (FPS). Game of the year 2001. Sorry GTA 3 »
