Two years after Commander Shepard repelled invading Reapers bent on the destruction of organic life, a mysterious new enemy has emerged. On the fringes of known space, something is silently abducting entire human colonies. Now Shepard must work with Cerberus, a ruthless organization devoted to human survival at any cost, to stop the most terrifying threat mankind has ever faced. To even attempt this perilous mission, Shepard must assemble the galaxy's most elite team and command the most powerful ship ever built. Even then, they say it would be suicide. Commander Shepard intends to prove them wrong.

New Mass Effect teaser trailer has Liara in it
I can hardly believe my eyes, but BioWare just revealed a teaser trailer for the next Mass Effect at The Game Awards – and Liara was in it. Blue space-wife Liara from the Mass effect trilogy was in the new Mass Effect teaser, exploring a snowy planet and picking up a discarded piece of N7 armour. What does this mean for Mass Effect 5? The game excels at making you feel like Commander Shepard, and the diverse squad abilities and class system add a satisfying layer of strategy to combat. The universe itself is one of the game's greatest strengths. Locations like Omega and Illium are memorable, and the rich lore encourages players to dive deeper into the setting. The final Suicide Mission is a satisfying payoff, even if some of the individual loyalty missions are less impactful. While the gameplay is solid, the shooting mechanics can feel somewhat average compared to dedicated action games. Facial animations have also aged poorly, and the soundtrack and voice acting, while serviceable, are not particularly memorable. Despite these shortcomings, the game's excellent replay value and branching choices make it easy to recommend to both RPG fans and newcomers to the series. »
