Game Chronicles 100/100

« Smash Hits was just the breath of fresh recycled air that we needed. »

PGNx Media 98/100

« Guitar Hero: Smash Hits is an incredibly fun game and one that will definitely keep you entertained until Guitar Hero V arrives. »

WonderwallWeb 91/100

« While its drums and vocals lack passion, the rest of the game excels and with some more promotion and respect, this game could be the best GH game around! »

GamingTrend 90/100

« I went into my review for Guitar Hero Smash Hits expecting a retread, but instead saw all of these great tracks get new life. The improvements from Metallica fused with a less niche soundtrack, is simply plastic-instrument-band heaven. »

XGN 86/100

« Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits is actually a bit too expensive for the relatively small track list. You might wonder why it's a totally new game in stead of downloadable songs, furthermore it's all too similar to Guitar Hero: World Tour. However de game is still strong and once you start to play you don't want to stop singing or drumming, because these new features are now possible. »

Extreme Gamer 84/100

« Guitar Hero: Smash Hits is the perfect compilation disc to pick up if you have missed some of the other editions along the way. »

Pelit (Finland) 80/100

« Updates some of the old songs from the series to band play, but the set list leaves lot to be desired. Sure, there are lots of hits in there, but also lots of misses that should’ve been left buried in time. Original versions of the songs instead of covers are nice addition, however. [June 2009] »

TeamXbox 80/100

« It plays well, but it feels like Activision is going overboard by not marketing it as DLC instead of a new retail-box release. Also, developer Beenox did a good job, but didn’t add anything of note to the gameplay components to spark interest. »

Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)

Hosep 7/10

« A decent game in the series with innovative ideas for adding more instruments, the graphics take a bit of a hit but there's a lot of character options. »

Pedrinhyeah 7/10

« I Can't complain much, and I am a "suspect" to say, 'cause I have lots and lots of hours and memories of playing every single Guitar Hero (and Rock Band) that has been released until the end of xbox 360. But, having all this experience (with guitar and vocal... I wish I had a drum kit, tho... Most likely the closest to the real thing.... and probably fun as **** i can say that this game was mistake and a money grabber. Don't get me wrong. The game is cool. And back in 2009 we didn't have Rock Band 3 and it's huge library. The problem is; it isn't the "smash hits", yes, mostly of them are, but there is S O M A N Y hits from the first games, GH 1, GH 2, GH 3, GH 80's, that are missing, that is quite disappointing. (They had the audacity to include Aerosmith tracks in it?! What the hell) As well as the small number of tracks. So, I guess i should be giving a mediocre, middle ground note of 5, but as I had so much fun, will be a 7. »

ITZZZPERRY 7/10

« Guitar Hero: Smash Hits is a lot of fun. Some of the songs are classics and are a blast to play. My only complaint, however, is that some of the songs are terrible and I have never heard of them. How is a 'smash hit' something I've never heard of? »
