Guitar Hero: On Tour - Decades, développé par Vicarious Visions et édité par Activision Publishing Minneapolis Inc., est sorti sur Nintendo DS le 14 novembre 2008. Ce jeu de musique prolonge l'expérience de Guitar Hero: On Tour en permettant de jouer certains des plus grands succès des années 70, 80, 90 et d'aujourd'hui, au travers de personnages et de lieux thématiques par décennie. La presse a salué l'extension de la série sur la portable, PGNx Media évoquant « un excellent prolongement de la série sur DS » et GamePro jugeant que « ce n'est en rien révolutionnaire, mais reste absolument passionnant à jouer ». Certains joueurs sur Metacritic y voient une perle cachée à condition de disposer du guitar et du pic accessoires, ou le recommandent à ceux qui ne peuvent pas s'offrir une console de salon, tout en regrettant que sans les accessoires le titre soit inexploitable. L'ensemble affiche une note moyenne agrégée de 59,91.
