Gerrrms

23 juillet 2020

Pure Nintendo 65/100

« Germs is enjoyable with a few players in short bursts. The user interface is well-designed and there are plenty of options, plus its just plain fun being a cute germ battling in a body for supremacy. On the downside, there’s just not enough to entertain you for long periods, and the lack of a dedicated single-player experience is unfortunate. »

COGconnected 63/100

« Overall, this is not a game where you will be spending a lot of time with. Complete rounds take about 10-15 minutes and are high-paced chaotic action. This is the type of experience you bust out with some friends or play by yourself when you want something quick and simple. As the rounds are short and sweet, this leads to it being both addictive and refreshing. That said, it lacks depth and the overall experience is shallow. Despite the lack of replayability, Gerrrms is a good-looking, and fun experience. Don’t let the germs keep you away! »

Video Chums 60/100

« It's not the most fleshed out multiplayer indie but Gerrrms still provides some good times through its intuitive and enjoyable setup. »

Starbit 50/100

« Gerrrms is a simple, multiplayer-oriented party brawler that was made with the social side of gaming in mind. While a solo experience is available, Gerrrms clearly plays better in a multiplayer context and at that, it does a decent job. What Gerrrms doesn't do, however, is to stand out amid other similar games and there's nothing remarkable here that hasn't been seen in other, more ambitious party games. »

DarkZero 50/100

« Gerrrms is a budget released party game that fits its price tag making it ideal for a title that can be picked up, played a while and then probably only ever brought out at family occasions. The lack of content and online play does hurt its overall longevity, since seeing everything Gerrrms has to offer is done within the first hour and its simplicity means there is nothing to learn. Still, it is fitting of its price, as Gerrrms is an enjoyable and simple game for when the family is around and they require entertainment for half an hour before moving onto the next thing. Sometimes video games can just be a stop gap to entertain for a short while and then be forgotten down the line without needing to be the deepest, complex experience. »

Switch Player 50/100

« Gerrrms is a pretty unique party game based upon swinging around points on the battlefield to change direction. Despite numerous game modes, everything feels rather similar, though. It’s not a long-term success. »

PLAY! Zine 45/100

« Gerrrms is a cute party game, that will, unfortunately, grow stale pretty fast. But if you do enjoy it more than it could ever be predicted, there's no harm to be found in this simple and colourful, harmless bacteria brawl. »
